Primary school physical education is continually being transformed through a £150 million government funding boost each year that will improve the pupil’s quality of physical education on offer and inspire the Olympic and Paralympic stars of the future. ts to embed that legacy into the school day from an early age. The sports funding aims to improve the quality of provision for every primary school in England which means:
•Each school will receive a lump sum including a per-pupil top-up.
•The funding is ‘Ring-fenced’ – only to be spent on physical education.
•Tougher assessment of physical education via Ofsted to ensure the funding is bringing the maximum benefit for all pupils, with schools held to account for how they spend their money.
