Remember to keep updating your eDofE account. I messaged everyone with ideas on how best to keep involved in your DofE Award during lockdown if you can.
For further info and ideas you can check out the DofE website here
Scotland Noticeboard - The Duke of Edinburgh's Award The DofE local noticeboard for Scotland. Meet the team, read local news and find training, opportunities and resources.
All DofE expedition training has been postponed until further notice. We will review the situation again in August.
All DofE participants can still continue with both the skill and physical elements of the Award though. For skill, pupils could learn a language using online courses/videos, learn to cook/bake, learn to grow vegetables, knit/sow...things that can all be done at home or within the safety of your garden.
Physical could be a home workout (joe wicks on you tube at 9am every morning!) a 15min brisk walk around the garden x 4 each week. Again, within the safety of your home/garden.
Given the current climate, a member of the DofE staff could be your assessor. Just take a note/pictures/blog of what you have been doing/learning👍
Check out the DofE website for more ideas of activities that could still be undertaken safely in and around the home and help to make good use of the weeks ahead.
Message me via your eDofE account if you are unsure of anything.
Remember, if you are able to do something physical and skill related, make sure it’s been submitted for approval on your eDofE account before starting.
Good luck
Reminder to all those who are looking to be signed off this year. Your eDofE account needs to be regularly updated. If you have completed any sections, make sure you upload appropriate evidence as well as assessors reports.
Cut off date for this year is the 20th March.
Any queries or issues then please see a member of the DofE staff team.
Reminder that the DofE info evening is tonight at 6.45pm for a 7pm start. This event will be held in the main street area of the school. Should be finished for 8pm.
Our DofE Information evening will be on Tuesday 3rd December. 6.45pm for a 7pm start at the school and should last no longer than 1 hour.
This for all pupils & parents/carers involved in the Bronze award (for pupils currently doing their Bronze as well as pupils wishing to do it).
The evening will cover how to navigate the online eDofE account, the type of activities you can and cannot undertake, timelines for completion, the expedition and answer any questions you may still have.
A letter detailing this event was given out last week. Spare letters available from the PE base.
We are holding an info evening for parents/carers of anyone currently doing their Bronze Award as well as for those who have children wishing to do it. We will go over the online profile which each participant has, how to navigate your way through it and how to upload evidence in order to complete each section. The date for this will be confirmed shortly once we know who our new intake of Bronze participants are.
To this end, anyone wishing to do the Bronze award this academic year should hand in their return slip by Friday the 15th November.
(This is also open to anyone involved with the Silver Award if required).
That’s us all on the bus and heading home. Should be back to the school for 6.45pm👍
