Today marks the beginning of Neurodiversity celebration week, a worldwide initiative that promotes wide world acceptance, understanding and inclusion.
The primary aim this year is to shift the global focus from a "deficit-based" model to one that recognises the unique skills and strengths of neurodivergent individuals and highlights the theme "From awareness to action:making organisational change happen".
South Lanarkshire College Library supports Neurodiversity celebration week and strives to make sure the library is a welcoming, all-inclusive learning environment.
For more information on Neurodiversity, pop by to see, or borrow books from our Neurodiversity awareness display. And as always, Joss will be happy to help.

Today is Safer Internet Day 2026 and the theme is
"Smart tech, safe choices β Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI"
This year's campaign, coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, focuses on the rapid increase of AI and its impact on young people.
Empowering Users: Helping children and young people develop the digital literacy and critical thinking skills needed to navigate AI-powered tools.
Ethical Considerations: Exploring the responsible design and use of technology, including addressing bias, reliability, and privacy in AI.
Practical Engagement: Resources cover everyday AI interactions, from study aids and chatbots to AI-generated content in social media.
When used well, they can support learning and creativity however, they can spread misinformation, and cause real harm.
Key things to know about AI
AI isnβt always right β chatbots can make mistakes or sound confident while being wrong.
Not everything online is real β images, videos and voices can be faked.
You have a role to play β questioning what you see helps stop misinformation spreading.
Responsible use matters β how you use AI can affect others as well as yourself.
