🎉 Big News at EKGTA! 🎉

We’re excited to share the news that this year EKGTA will be delivering the NC in Engineering Systems as part of our Modern Apprenticeship programme—right here in-house!

With this new chapter, we’re launching The Academy, our dedicated department for academic qualifications. We’ve brought on board two exceptional lecturers, Stephen Kinnon and Chris Gray, who between them have decades of experience in delivering academic engineering qualifications. We’re also thrilled to have Raymond Lyon, former Head of Engineering at Glasgow Clyde College, supporting us during the during our first year.

This means our apprentices can now complete their entire training, both practical and academic, directly with us at EKGTA. This unique offering allows us to deliver a blended learning approach ensuring your apprentices are trained to an even higher standard than before. Since 1966 we have been committed to providing the best possible education and training experience, and this is another huge development in our continued efforts to deliver this!

The staff at EKGTA would like to thank Taylor Barr from Richie Precision Engineering for the kind donation of the Startrite bandsaw. This machine will be used in the Fitting section at the Centre in East Kilbride. EKGTA would also like to thank Zeus Engineering (AGZ Group) for their kind donation of transporting the machine from the Factory in Livingstone to our facility in East Kilbride. These donations are very much appreciated by all the staff at EKGTA.

Apprenticeships - EKGTA The introduction of the Modern Apprenticeship Framework in 1995 was a turning point for training in the industrial and commercial environments, where the measurement of ability (or competence) became the key element in the development of the individual. For example:

Congratulations to Dylan Millar of Ministry of Defence on winning the Best Final Year Apprentice award. Dylan has completed his SVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, however is gradually making the transition into becoming more of an Electrical Maintenance Engineer. Dylan has shown a great work ethic and excellent progress throughout his apprenticeship and we are delighted to present him with this award.

We are glad to announce that have recently partnered up with 2 new companies, AAH Pharmaceuticals & BT Group. We are delighted that they have chosen us to put their trainees through their Modern Apprenticeship.

Workshop will re-open on the 8th March with a phase return for some trainees, with the rest returning on the 15th March.
