Brambletye is a multi-award winning co-educational day and boarding prep school in the Sussex countryside for pupils aged 2-13.

Brambletye is a leading day and boarding preparatory school for children aged two and a half to thirteen. On Wednesday mornings, our Nursery children welcome Madame McKie for their weekly languages lesson. This week, they explored colours in Spanish, with a little song to help them learn. A lovely way to introduce our youngest pupils to another language.

A huge well done to all the runners who represented Brambletye at the cross-country event at Ardingly on Friday, showing great determination and sportsmanship throughout.

Special congratulations to Sasha, who won her race, and to the teams for their excellent results:

Two outstanding IAPS successes for Brambletye, with our Girls’ Hockey team taking the title this week and our U13 Boys’ Football team finishing second last week.

The Girls’ Hockey team produced a superb performance at the IAPS tournament yesterday, showing tremendous resilience to reach the final after a dramatic semi final decided by sudden death. They finished the day in style with a 3–0 victory over Kings, securing the IAPS title.

Last week, our U13 Boys’ Football team battled through six games to reach the Grand Final. After two penalty shootout victories in the knockout stages, they finished second overall, earning a place at the National Championships later this year.

A fantastic couple of weeks for Brambletye sport, and a huge congratulations to both teams on two brilliant IAPS performances.

The warmer evenings have brought plenty of opportunities for the boarders to make the most of our beautiful surroundings: Wild Wednesdays in the woods, silent discos on the terrace and kite flying in the grounds. There has been plenty of baking, too, alongside evening activities that bring the children together to learn new skills, share a few laughs and enjoy time with friends.

Weekends have been just as full of adventure, with mountain biking, tobogganing and a trip to the seaside.

This term, our Golden Ticket overnight stays are also giving Year 5 and 6 pupils the opportunity to experience boarding for themselves, with bookings already filling up. We look forward to welcoming more pupils and giving them a taste of life in boarding.

Pre-Prep children came together last week for a wonderful Harvest Assembly, sharing a beautiful selection of Harvest inspired songs, readings and prayers with their families.

We are hugely grateful for the generous donations collected for East Grinstead Foodbank. Year 2 have been learning more about the Foodbank and the work it does in our local community, making this year’s Harvest celebrations particularly meaningful.

A lovely afternoon of singing and giving thanks.

As part of their work on all things Robin Hood, Lower School pupils enjoyed a Bushcraft Day in our wonderful grounds yesterday.

The pupils built shelters, tried their hand at weaving, made a coppice fence and cooked over an open fire. We can’t think of a better, more fun way to spend a Wednesday.

We’ve refreshed the site to give a clearer picture of life at Brambletye, from our approach to learning and our beautiful setting to the people and experiences that make the school what it is.

A good place to start is with our four new films, each offering a different perspective on Brambletye: Prep, Pre-Prep, parents and pupils. We hope they give you a sense of the school, wherever you are on your Brambletye journey.

A fantastic day of girls’ hockey at Lancing College on Wednesday, with both our Colts and U13 teams winning their respective age-group tournaments.

The U13 team put in a commanding performance throughout, scoring 20 goals and conceding just two across seven matches before securing a 3–0 victory in the final.

The Colts were equally impressive, also finishing their tournament with a 3–0 win in the final.

A brilliant achievement from both teams - well done to all the girls involved.
