Hayley Jane writes: “Hello, I hope it's ok to message. I came across this wonderful poetry book in a charity shop yesterday and it's led me on an amazing research path into the school. I was wondering if anyone had any more information of the school during this time.”

Looks like a school prize awarded in 1928 to Dorothy Hunt. What a poignant collection this would have been then, and what a beautiful binding.

Policy Update!! (That sounds grand!) We are always happy to receive messages and pictures from ex 'Ag and Mick''s pupils and to post these to the page. We may do this slowly sometimes because 'life' etc!

However, going forward we will only do this when we are contacted by somebody with a proper Facebook profile (ie. a profile picture at a minimum). I have heard so much about bots and scams on social media that I don't believe it is safe to accept content from entirely anonymous entities. Other Facebook groups and pages have similar policies. So I have deleted our recent contact which took this form.

Meanwhile here is an entirely unrelated picture of a blue tit entering an old nesting box. Living in hope!

Adele Pentony Graham writes; “ What year would this have been? I had to go to Bourne and Hollingsworth on Oxford St for my uniform. It was awful! Dreadful colours and shrank down 2 sizes in the wash. It also got lost at school so we were often given other people's clothes as ours were missing.”

“ about 1962 for Gorringes, sadly it closed down! Harrods offered me a job, so spent 6 months there, too big a store for me, then went to Bourne & Hollingsworth, as my old boss from Gorringes was there! but still not happy there, moved to Kinch & Lack in Victoria, then 1970 flew out to NZ for a job given to me in London!!”

Meg Peters writes: "Hello, my name is Meg and I’m an English student at the University of Victoria in Canada. I’m doing a research project on a children’s book called ‘Another Alice Book, Please!’ and the particular copy I’m working with has the stamp of this school in it! My project focuses on book history, and so I’m trying to track down the provenance of this copy.
I’m wondering if there is anyone connected to the school who might be able to answer some research questions I have. I’m curious as to how the school used the book and for how long, etc.
Please let me know if there is anyone who would be able to help out. Thank you!"

Picture of the Book here is from 'Library Thing" Meg’s photos of her copy are in the comments below.

Sharon Barlin writes: Hi, I wondered if Barbara Wilson (?) looked at this - I am Deirdre Cranefield’s sister and have spoken to Barbara at Old Girls’ held in Chiswick. I would love to make contact.

NB: not sure what ‘this’ refers to. Possibly one of the school annual photos?
