Good luck to everyone getting their exam results today…I wanted to share some wisdom to those that didn’t get the grades they hoped for, or to those who generally struggle academically.

I didn’t do well at school and got an E in maths and an E in science. I scraped through with my other grades.

I didn’t go to university and started full time office work at 18 when most of my friends had gone off to uni.

At the age of 29 I started Styled By Susie as a hobby and the rest is history.

Grades don’t define you and you can do anything you want to do in life, with hard work, determination, love and a lot of coffee 😁 Maybe you’re not naturally academic and your path lies somewhere more creative.

However today looks for you, it’s only the beginning 🤍

I remember at my school it was SO uncool to have laces showing or have your bag on both shoulders. So funny thinking back on it now!

If you have ever watched me shop, you’ll see my top secret….

…I do two, sometimes three laps of each shop. So many clients say they quickly ‘give up’ in a shop if they don’t see anything that instantly grabs them. I find that when you walk around a few times, you’ll see bits you’d previously not seen.

Case in point is this £6 dress I nabbed from a local charity shop on Saturday. I didn’t see it until my third time around the shop!

So much of successful shopping is patience, and when you really take the time to do it, you’ll find so many hidden gems! 👀
