What a fun week we’ve had! We visited Raystede animal welfare centre where we saw cats, tortoises, ducks, rabbits and guinea pigs.

The children absolutely loved it!
Spoke about the animals what they eat, how long the animals are pregnant for, how do they find this heat and so much more…
Then of course loved all the play areas!! And an ice cream! 🍦

These 2 simple activities cover the 7 areas of learning…
Communication and language- we will be talking about what they are doing, using words like scooping, pouring, is it wet or dry, asking questions etc…
PSED- taking turns, develop independence, work together and so on
Physical development- pouring, scooping, using those little fingers to squeeze the sand, carry the pots all using those fine motor skills
Literacy- making up stories, developing imagination
Mathematics- seeing if the pots are full/ need more water/sand in. Count how many scoops it takes to fill the ice cream cones.
Understanding the world- noticing the change when adding water to sand. Floating/sinking.
Expressive arts and design- creating sand castles, pretend ice creams and maybe other foods.
There is so much more to add, there is learning in everything ❤️
