All Hallows Forest School

All Hallows Forest School We believe our children thrive when their learning is fuelled by a spirit of adventure. Children are introduced to a variety of hand tools from an early age.

All Hallows Forest School is an inspiring woodland world where children enjoy hands-on learning experiences and reap the many benefits that outdoor learning brings. Forest School is about exploring and experiencing the natural world through practical activities. At All hallows, our children go out in all weathers, all year round, exploring and learning from the seasons and environment changes. We

believe children thrive when their learning is fuelled by a spirit of adventure and this motivates them to become more independent learners back in the classroom. We are lucky to have our own nine-acre onsite woodland, Scouts Wood, where the ever-changing environment allows the children to have memorable learning experiences. Our fabulous array of resources includes an outdoor classroom as well as a cabin with an indoor space, pizza ovens, food preparation areas and fire pits with cooking facilities. Our mud kitchens and boat encourage sensory, imaginative and role play for our younger children and our Forest School garden provides a wealth of learning opportunities. These experiences allow them to manage risks within a safe setting. Reseach has shown that children are stimulated by the outdoors and will, over time, typically experience an increase in their learning capacity, enthusiasm and emotional well-being. Children's confidence and self-esteem is enhanced when they are empowered to make their own decisions and encouraged to use their initiative to solve problems and to cooperate with others. Forest School is an integral part of our curriculum at All Hallows which we believe adds value to classroom-based learning. With lessons linked closely to the curriculum, our children are not just learning about the natural environment and world around them, they are continuing their learning outside the classroom.

Introducing our New Forest School Lead!

We're thrilled to welcome Matt Beck to the All Hallows School team!

With a background in teaching at a local primary school, Matt is no stranger to the world of education. He's a qualified teacher and has an incredible track record of developing Forest School programs from scratch. ๐ŸŒฑ

Matt's also an experienced outdoor education instructor, skilled in bushcraft, archery, climbing, and caving. And did we mention he's a certified Rugby coach too? ๐Ÿ‰

We're looking forward to more adventures in the great outdoors as Matt takes the reins of Forest School Lead, bringing a world of learning and exploration to our Forest School program!

Mr Croney's last ever Forest School lesson, taking Nursery up to the woods for one last blast.

"It has been an absolute joy to offer Forest School and Outdoor opportunities to children from All Hallows School over the past several years. The Scouts Wood is most certainly a magical place and I'm glad to have played my part in helping to create a free spirited environment for children to explore, have fun and learn through play, always seeking to include their ideas. To witness children connect with nature, be free, gain conference and self-esteem through hands-on practical activities and all together develop holistically is what has made my time at All Hallows enriching. I will miss working with children day in day out, along with their families who have always been supportive towards the Forest School ethos and movement, not to mention the forever hardworking and passionate staff body. It's a farewell for now to the All Hallows community but a see you soon hopefully".
