It never goes away - the wondering of how my Little Acorns are developing and flourishing! The feeling of wanting to inspire more practitioners to be the best they can, provide the most nurturing and stimulating learning environment i can, missing the children walking through the door with the brightest smile on their face eager to tell you all that is going on in their brilliant mind, or those who firstly need that nurturing and reassurance that today will be a great day.

MY LAST POST

Well today the Little Acorns sign came down from St George’s Church. I couldn’t be there to watch it come down like I was the day I stood so proudly at being put up. It has been a very emotional time.

5 years of building the most special place for children to come and learn, have fun and make those special memories and skills that will set them up for life.

5 years of going above and beyond for the children and families of the village, supporting them with everything I could building and strengthening our community and developing our Little Acorns family and doing this all from within the church, the hub of the community a place I called my second home.

Never did I envisage that the values and morales of the church would turn their back on the children of the community, turn them away to find somewhere else to go and whilst doing that end the livelihood of one of their community members. All because I agreed to the Joint Benefice Council’s new license agreement at the beginning of April when the church wanted this agreement agreed at the end of March. The members of the JBC would not retract their decision in asking me to vacate despite knowing the devestating impact this would have to the children and families that attended, to the staff who would loose their jobs and to me who would potentially loose my livelihood.

Parents wrote the most heartfelt letters to the archdeacon but again the Joint Benefice Council stood immovable.

Whilst I remove the last few pieces within the church and feel uncertain about what my future will now be, I am also so sad for all those children who were due in September to experience not only an outstanding rated Ofsted nursery but the magic my team and I created but now can not.

I have to now find peace and reflect on the most amazing times I have had, the journey we have all been on and feel so privileged that I had the chance to meet the most amazing families who will always make me smile.

Little Acorns families past and present thank you, you are all amazing.

It’s the end of a very special era today as we have our very last leavers party with in St George’s Church.
Our rain clouds will change to sun beams as we bring love, laugher and joy (among some tears) to our final day.

Position: one to one support to the most amazing children aged 2-4 years. Working term term time only. 9am until 12noon 3 mornings a week.
Requirements of the post: To be energetic, nurturing, patient and have an knowledge of the EYFS.
Must hold an Early years Level 2 qualification or above.

Well that’s the 30 day challenge complete.
373,667 steps in total.

I walked in the wind, rain, darkness and cold with family and friends to help raise vital funds for the mental health foundation.

Thank you so much for all who have supported me those who have donated what money they can, and those who have sent me messages of encouragement and support.
Every kind gesture means the world to me.

There were some days where I couldn’t reach the goal of 12,000 steps and there were other days I walked passed the goal to make up for the steps I lost.

This is life, it has its ups and downs and likes to throws some curveballs along the way. What is important is that there is someone there along the way to dance with us, share our triumphs and successes, and cry with us, someone to lean on and help prop us up and give us the encouragement to keep going on.

Walking the steps was not hard, finding the time was more difficult. Please find the time for each other ###x
