Everyone got a little Easter activity book this week to do after school if they wanted to!

They went down a storm, and its always lovely to watch them helping each other to work things out.

On Monday we did some Rememberance Day activities.

We started with watching Poppies on the iPlayer for the smaller ones, then we looked at some war medals, a soldiers release book and a soldiers service and pay book.

We chatted lots about the wars led by the kids questions and then made a little poppy wreath for them to take home.

Two of the after schoolers have been enjoying playing shops recently, so whilst they are all at school I've set up a toy shop for them to play with when they get home.

🍁🍂 Making the most of Autumn before our Christmas stuff takes over 🍁🍂

Lots of different types of leaves and a few pine cones we have collected in our tiny tuff tray. We add some conkers and acorns for the older ones as well but generally leave them out so the little ones can explore it at their leisure during the day.

This is perfect for the smallest ones to explore some nature, and the different textures and colours.

Then I added in some safe scissors for the older ones to practice cutting, some tweezers for pinching the leaves and a few numbers for some number recognition and numeracy skills and to slowly introduce numbers to the smallest ones.

🎆🎇🔥Bonfire Week🔥🎇🎆

A few of the little activities we had for our Bonfire Week.

✂️🖍️ Crafting. As usual I put out some themed crafty bits and pieces and then left the little ones to decide what they wanted to do with it.
One of them used a lot of glue and enjoyed using the spreaders to spread it around.
One spent most of the time practicing using scissors.
And the other used ALL the glitter to make sparkly pictures, using her fingers to get the glitter to go where she wanted it.

🔥 Our tiny tinker tray this week had lots of bits of pieces in to try and make our own bonfire.
