Apparently Irlen Syndrome and dyslexia are two different things...are they or are they connected?
Can someone diagnosed with dyslexia actually have Irlen Syndrome? Yes
Can someone diagnosed with dyslexia be helped by Irlen filtered lenses? Yes
If you have dyslexia, either diagnosed professionally or self diagnosed, will it hurt to be tested for Irlen Syndrome as well? Definitely not, it might actually help, and it may be their dyslexia symptoms are actually caused by Irlen Syndrome and the lenses will make reading easier.

Irlen Syndrome is not new, it is not a fad, it is not a placebo...it has been around for over 30years. In 1988, the 60minutes programme ran a story which followed a teenage boy's journey being tested for Irlen Syndrome and his success with Irlen lenses.

Following that a reporter from 60minutes was tested for Irlen Syndrome after living with the belief that she was dyslexic and there was nothing to be done.
