Hi everyone. Everything has changed.
We have looked at Covid safe ways of meeting for band again. Work still needs to be done.
Can I ask what people think and what you would like to do please?
Two local plans are that we prepare some hymns for Remembrance Sunday and some carols for Christmas. A solid plan is that we will need to do these things remotely and individually - I will organise and knit the things together. There is a cost involved.
Please let me know if you are interested in doing some playing. Also please remind me how much you pay towards subs?

Well done everybody. What a fantastic half term. The band is sounding really good and we are making excellent progress. Next week we are having our half term break. Don’t forget to do some practice (even just a few mins warming up will keep your ‘chops’ going!) and we’ll see you again on 4th November. Then we will carry on learning our Christmas music.

Hi All,

New term is upon us. Hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer and ready for the autumn. Our first rehearsal will be on 16th September. Remember to keep your chops in shape with any buzzing, long notes and scales.

We’ve got lots of ideas on how to recruit new members. If anyone has any other ideas, friends or family that may want to join then let us know. In addition, as some of you may know, I am now taking on pupils for one to one lessons in the area - if you know anybody interested let me know.

There’s lots of exciting things in the pipeline.

Omar will be taking the next few sessions so get ready for the 16th and I’ll see you all very soon.

A couple of years ago we received an email out of the blue from this chap, Jon, asking if he could stay with us for a few days and play at our brass festival in Dursley, while cycling from John O Groats to Lands End pulling his Eb tuba on the back of his tricycle. The offer was too intriguing for us to pass up (!) and you might remember his performance with us at the brass festival in Lister's Hall - he also visited some local primary schools and old folks homes helping us to promote brass. It's great what experiences music brings... and great to see Jon's ambition happening, touring north America. You can see his TV premier here
