Neville's Cross Primary School and Nursery

Last night, children from across Key Stage 2 represented our school at the Durham Dash at Beamish. It was a wonderful event filled with sunshine, smiles, resilience, amazing sportsmanship and some well-earned medals. 🥇 A huge well done to everyone involved and a special thank you to the staff who supported the children at the event. Thank you to all of the families who came up to Beamish to cheer everyone on - we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! The children were AMAZING!

🏖️Auckland History🏖️

Auckland Class are loving their history topic on seaside holidays this term. Today, they have spent time comparing Victorian swimwear to what we might wear to the beach today. They have then used their learning to design an advert for a Victorian swimming costume. We think they did a fantastic job!

The Friends of Neville's Cross School, Durham have lots of lovely treats planned for us at our Sports Day next week!

Monday 22nd June is our Sports Day! We would love the children from YR-Y6 to come wearing the coloured t-shirt to match their house. Please don’t worry if you don’t have the appropriate colour- they can wear their white PE top as usual. KS2 sports day is in the morning and EYFS and KS1 is in the afternoon. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for good weather! ☀️

Key Stage 1 enjoyed a fantastic visit to Roker Beach today. We thoroughly enjoyed activities led by OASES and managed to find crabs, mussels, sea snails and lots of seaweed while rockpooling! A huge thank you to all of our volunteers who came along today and ensured the children had a wonderful time. 👏👏👏 You know it’s been a good trip when lots of children have a snooze on the bus back to school! We promise none of the teachers did! 😴😴😴

On behalf of Friends of Neville's Cross School, Durham, we are delighted to announce a Squishy Raffle! Miss Scott will be selling tickets on the yard at lunchtimes and after school. The raffle will be drawn at the end of Sports Day. ❤️

Well done to both teams who competed in the Durham SSP Athletics Competition. They displayed some great field and track events.
Overall, Team A finished second and Team B joint third.

We had a lovely day today taking part in the SSP Girls Cricket Competition. Well done to the children who took part, some of them having never played cricket before. Congratulations to the team who made it through to the semi final but got beat by 18 runs.
