'My life has changed so much for the better. I got kicked out of school and thought i wouldn't achieve anything. I love been here because its so supportive and staff really understand you. I've worked on my mental health, I have passed my level 1 exams, I have gained my certificate and I'm now looking forward to a great future. The best thing is that im proud of myself and i have better relationships with my family.' - S4S learner

Today, our learners showed incredible empathy and respect for the world around them — not just for people, but for nature too. 💚

While spending time outdoors, they discovered a hedgehog in need of help and carefully worked together to make sure it was safe and comfortable until it could be taken to Paws for thought wildlife rescue. 🦔

Moments like these remind us what our values truly mean in practice — kindness, respect, courage… always. 🌱

So proud of our amazing Mitchell who came to us as a shy young man and is now off to college to be a Teaching assistant! He has completed exams, work placements, qualifications and was exceptional as a peer mentor and a strong voice on our learner council. We look forward to welcoming him back for his TA placement in September!

We are very pleased to let you know that the CAMHS Nurse Drop-in sessions will be running from 4 more Family Hubs.

There will be sessions at our Family Hubs in Chester-le-Street, Stanley, Seaham, Peterlee, Ferryhill and Willington

You can attend any session regardless of where you live, and there are plans to expand to cover all the Family Hub later this year.

These sessions may be useful if your child is struggling with:

🎈low confidence and self esteem
🎈low mood
🎈worrying and anxious feelings

The CAMHS nurse will not be able to give any updates on open cases and ongoing CAMHS work during these sessions. Any questions like this should be directed to the CAMHS team supporting your child.
