An engaging visit from our wonderful Executive Director Ted, who spent time with learners to hear their views and even managed to fit in a little Smore making while learning about fire safety! Waythrough

Today, our learners showed incredible empathy and respect for the world around them — not just for people, but for nature too. 💚

While spending time outdoors, they discovered a hedgehog in need of help and carefully worked together to make sure it was safe and comfortable until it could be taken to Paws for thought wildlife rescue. 🦔

Moments like these remind us what our values truly mean in practice — kindness, respect, courage… always. 🌱

We have recently been teaching learners about democracy and having a voice for your community.

Today we had the opportunity to hear all about the upcoming White Paper and the priorities for the North East from Bridget Phillipson Sectretary of State for Education.

For our learners took to Seaham beach armed with litter pickers and managed to collect a staggering 8 bin bags worth of rubbish. Learners also explored the history of the glass factories and collected sea glass for a whole school art project! Waythrough

Our learners had an extremely engaging personal safety talk from Police dog Ben and his handler Claire from Durham Constabulary.
Along with vital safety information learners had the opportunity to learn about vocational routes into the police and how to correctly care for dogs! Waythrough Durham Constabulary

We are very pleased to let you know that the CAMHS Nurse Drop-in sessions will be running from 4 more Family Hubs.

There will be sessions at our Family Hubs in Chester-le-Street, Stanley, Seaham, Peterlee, Ferryhill and Willington

You can attend any session regardless of where you live, and there are plans to expand to cover all the Family Hub later this year.

These sessions may be useful if your child is struggling with:

🎈low confidence and self esteem
🎈low mood
🎈worrying and anxious feelings

The CAMHS nurse will not be able to give any updates on open cases and ongoing CAMHS work during these sessions. Any questions like this should be directed to the CAMHS team supporting your child.
