Why are you SO tired in peri-menopause?
If you’re in your 40s and suddenly feel like your energy has disappeared… you’re not imagining it. ❤️
Peri-menopause can have a huge impact on energy levels, and it’s not simply because you’re “getting older”.
Hormonal fluctuations 🧠
Oestrogen and progesterone don’t just gradually decline — they can fluctuate dramatically during peri-menopause.
These hormones influence sleep, mood, energy, body temperature and how your brain functions.
Your sleep may be suffering 😴
Night sweats, feeling too hot, anxiety, waking frequently or simply struggling to stay asleep can leave you exhausted — even if you technically spent 8 hours in bed.
Stress can feel harder to manage
Hormonal changes can affect your response to stress, leaving you feeling more overwhelmed and mentally drained.
And when life is already busy? That can really add up.
Your recovery may change 🏋️♀️
You may notice that the workouts you used to bounce back from now leave you feeling completely wiped out.
That doesn’t mean you should stop exercising.
It means your training, nutrition and recovery may need to evolve with you.
Nutrition matters more than ever 🍽️
Under-eating, skipping meals, not getting enough protein or relying on caffeine to get through the day can make fatigue worse.
This is NOT the time to survive on coffee and salads.
Think:
Enough calories to fuel performance demand
Plenty of protein
Fibre-rich carbohydrates
Healthy fats
Regular meals - don’t skip
Plenty of fluids for hydration
And don’t forget that persistent fatigue can also have other causes — including low iron, B12 or thyroid issues — so don’t automatically blame everything on peri-menopause.
So what can you actually do?
💪 Strength train consistently
🥗 Eat enough to support your body
😴 Prioritise sleep and recovery
🚶♀️ Keep daily movement in your routine
☕ Be mindful of relying on caffeine
🩸 Speak to your GP if fatigue is persistent or unusual
❤️ Give yourself permission to adjust your expectations
Peri-menopause isn’t a reason to give up on feeling strong, energetic and capable.

THE HYBRID GAMES 2026 — NEWCASTLE ARENA 🔥
What a day. Battered isn’t even the word! 😂
The Hybrid Games 2026 at Newcastle Arena and safe to say it was TOUGH.
I went into this with literally one day of training and not exactly the best preparation, stepping in for an injured girl from an old gym I used to work
So, considering the circumstances… I’m pretty bloody proud of myself for getting it done. 💪🏼
Solo work is lonely it’s just you and the event which means digging real deep no rest.
If I’m going to compete here again, I need to up my game, put the work in and come back better prepared. The athletes here are incredibly fit and truly inspiring..
Next time?
Will there be one, who knows, I love doing one or the other strength or running combining them both is tough especially alone and I feel it takes the fun out of it for me.
If I do come I will be coming back for a better time or it may be to complete as duo. 🔥
9th in my category to beat for next time 🤩

One thing I often see with clients when they come to me for help with their health, fitness, and nutrition goals…
Some need a little more encouragement than others to let go of old habits and beliefs.
And that’s completely normal.
Because change isn’t just physical — it’s mental too.
Donna is a great example of this.
She works in a profession where she supports and advises others on their health… yet she still chose to fully trust the process and lean into my guidance.
She had never strength trained before.
But instead of overthinking it, doubting herself, or holding onto “what she’d always done”…
She committed.
She showed up.
She stayed coachable.
And honestly — that’s what made her a coach’s dream.
Not perfection.
Not experience.
Just trust, consistency, and a willingness to do things differently.
And here’s the part most people don’t expect…
This is some of the food Donna has been eating to build the strongest, healthiest version of her body she’s ever had 👇🏼
She’s never eaten as much as she is now… and she absolutely loves it.
More food. More strength. Better results.
That’s how we do it.
Where we going for food next, Donna? 😅
If you’re ready to let go of what’s been holding you back and finally move forward with the right support…

Donna’s journey didn’t stop in October 2025… and that’s the point.
When Donna first came to me, her goal wasn’t weight loss — it was to build strength and create shape.
Fast forward to now… she’s still here. Still showing up. Still progressing. 💥
Since starting, Donna has:
✔️ Continued to progressively overload her training
✔️ Fuelled her body properly to match the demands
✔️ Navigated setbacks without quitting
✔️ Stayed consistent, disciplined, and committed
And the results? They speak for themselves. 🔥
She’s stronger every single block.
She’s confident in movements she once thought were impossible (hello pull-ups with a 5” iso hold👏 and 120kg hip thrusts for reps).
She’s no longer dealing with daily aches and stiffness from desk-based work.
She trains because she loves it — not because she “has to”.
This is what real journeys look like.
Not a quick fix. Not a short-term phase.
But long-term commitment, resilience, and growth. 💪🏻
Donna is the definition of a team player at GJ Body Conditioning — and an absolute pleasure to coach. I’m mega proud of her, you’re amazing Donna, insane work. We’ve hiked and brought park runs into the mix wahey onwards and upwards from here 🚀

Lucys 8 week journey 🦋
She couldn’t understand why nothing was working…
She was doing:
– Extra cardio
– Eating less
– Trying to be “good” all the time
But she felt stuck.
Sound familiar?
This is what we did
✔️ Focused on strength
✔️ Built a realistic routine both in gym and nutrition
✔️ Took pressure off being perfect
✔️ Focused on progressing
✔️ Built trust in our relationship
And that’s when things started to work.
Not just physically…
But mentally too.
Less stress.
More confidence.
Real progress.
Inches down on back, waist, hips and 8lbs off in 8 weeks, insane
Lucy: “Firstly I’ve absolutely loved it and it’s the first time I’ve ever seen myself make any progress! So thank you so much. 😘 and mentally I’ve been so much more positive which my husband has really notice”
Looking forward to building on your journey Lucy Farrington
If you feel stuck like Lucy — message me “READY” ❤️
I currently have 1 space online and my new program starts September 2026, get in early to reserve your spot today 😁👍🏼

For 44 years, this was something I only ever imagined.
I’d see photos like this and think… maybe one day.
But I kept putting that “one day” off
Not because I didn’t want it —
but because I didn’t feel ready.
Not confident enough.
Not “good enough”.
I told myself I’d do it when I looked better.
Leaner. More toned. More… perfect.
But the truth is — that day keeps moving if you let it.
So here I am 44.
Finally stepping in front of the camera.
And no — this isn’t the most “perfect” my body has ever looked.
But it is the strongest.
The fittest.
The most capable it’s ever been.
And that means more than anything.
For a long time, I let fear hold me back.
Fear of judgement.
Fear of what people might say.
Fear of being seen.
But something shifted.
I realised… people will always have opinions.
And I have no control over that.
What I do have control over — is how I choose to live my life.
And this… this is it.
Moving. Training. Pushing myself.
Showing up — even when it feels uncomfortable.
Because this is what makes me feel alive.
And if there’s one thing I want other women to realise, it’s this —
you don’t have to wait until you feel “ready”.
You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to start.
Because the strongest, most confident version of you?
She’s built — not found.✨
