Early Years open event-Tuesday 31st March 2026 from 4pm to 5pm.

Come along and explore our provision for 2 Year olds, Nursery and Reception! We have a chocolate treat for every child visiting!

We are launching our digital application forms for Early Years Admission. It is recommended to apply for a 2 or 3 year old place early, as it helps us to know in advance for staffing ratios. The applications collate into spreadsheets which inform school of starting dates for children. You will be contacted a couple months before this to; clarify the place, fill in paperwork and start visits.

We can only help the children do extra-curricular activities with your help.

Here at Wise Thornley Academy, we are planning on holding a Christmas fair which helps us raise vital money for extra-curricular activities. We are hoping to have the usual stalls including a tombola and an amazing raffle. To enable us to hold the tombola and raffle, we need prizes! This is where you can help...
We are looking for donations of prizes. If you have anything that can be donated, such as alcohol bottles/cans, gift sets, vouchers from your own business or for something else which you can put your business name to. For example: a just eat voucher from (own business name). If you have any unwanted presents or 2nd hands toys/books, this would be great. We're also hoping to put together a food hamper or two as prizes, so if you have something that can be contributed to this, that would be great too.

Here at Wise Thornley Academy, as part of our Eco Schools promise, we are introducing a School Clothing Bank.
The clothing bank is for you or your families to donate your old clothes to school. We then get these weighed in with a company called School Collect, for 15p for KG. Our Eco School children Representatives have decided that the funds we raise will go towards playtime resources.
Clothing can be donated in the bank which you can see is in place, in our yard entrance. Clothing can be of any quality (good or bad) the company then recycle them as they see fit.

We hope you’ve all have a lovely half term break. We hope you’ve all had a restful break and ready to start our Autumn Term 2. It’s such a busy half term leading up to Christmas!

Don’t forget that tomorrow is a Training Day for our staff. The children are back to school Tuesday 4th November. Breakfast club is available to book and we look forward to seeing you all back.

We are looking to extend our offer within our Two year Old provision, to support families who may need it. If you have a child aged two or under please help us to gather your thoughts. We are looking into you being able to pay for places, if you are not eligible for the Government grants, but also to add extra sessions if the 15 hours entitlement is not sufficient for your family needs.
