Let's get creative🖌️🎨
The children in Mini Adventures have been using their imagination as we engaged in role play in the home corner and in our playdough tray. Some children used the bags to collect the different foods from the shelf saying they were 'going to the shops'. They used the wooden food to pretend to make different meals for breakfast and lunch. 'I like eggs' one child said as they handed the wooden plate across. 'More sauce' another child said as they pretended to squeeze the sauce across their food. We have also been using the playdough to make some food. We added playdough to our trays and baked some cookies to share with everyone. We also talked about what our playdough looked like. 'Like peas' one child said as they rolled small amounts into a ball.
We have also been creating some beautiful glueping and sticking pictures using the tissue paper to share at home an. We used the brushes and spreaders to add some glue to our paper. We talked amount adding more as we dipped into the glue. Using our fine motor skills we picked up the tissue paper between our pointer finger and thumb placing this down onto chosen areas of the paper. The children enjoyed showing off their end product pictures to all their friends.
What a lovely day Mini Adventurers, we hope you all have a lovely weekend

What a lovely Friday we have had in Little Explorers!
Today we used our creative sides to complete some string painting. The children coated their pieces of string in blue and orange paint and dragged it around their paper. We a*o used some thin paintbrushes to paint some pictures. 'my name!' one child said as they traced around the page.
The children have shown lots of interest in our train tracks and vehicles today. The children connected all of the track pieces and used their hands to guide the cars across the bridge.
We explored the home corner today as we discussed all of our meals. The children placed lots of pretend foods on plates and handed them to me saying 'some dinner'. The children also roleplayed with the baby dolls by putting them to bed and feeding them bottles.
Well done Little Explorers, have a lovely weekend!

Happy Friday Holiday Club, Clever Thinkers and Big Inventors. Today we have had lots of bubble fun in the garden. The children have all taken turns dipping the bubble wand into the bubble mixture to create some really big bubbles. As the bubbles appeared the children tried really hard to catch them before they popped. Some of the bubbles were bigger than our heads. We all looked on in amazement as they drifted up into the sky.
Well done everyone.

What another busy day we have had Mini Adventurers, exploring, creating and getting messy!
The children have been using their fingers to draw circles and lines in the paint under cling film. They enjoyed mixing the colours together and watching the colours mix into one. Some children used the dinosaur to see what marks they could make in the paint. "'Roarrr" one child said as they stomped it on the tray.
We have also been exploring the different farm animals in the big tuff tray by making the noises which they make and naming them. The children then used the animals to make marks and explore different textures in the soil, fake grass, shaving foam and sand.
In our arts and craft area the children have used the potatoes to stamp shapes onto paper while naming and recognising them. Circle” one child said while another said “square”. The children loved this and where able to say the colors which they where using- "blue" and "green".
Well done Mini Adventurers!

Happy Thursday!
Today little Explorers have been experimenting with our colours. We mixed water and food dye in some small bottles and bowls and used syringes to transfer the water to different bowls. The children identified the colour of the water to be 'red!' and 'green!' they said confidently. We discussed that mixing the water would create a different colour so we observed as the yellow and red created orange!
The children enjoyed our painting activity using clothes pegs and cotton wool. We painted some unique pictures by dabbing the cotton wool into the paint then onto the page. We continued to discuss which colours we were using.
We have also explored our small world area today. The children identified some animals and followed with each sound they make. We lined up the dinosaurs and roleplayed with them in the grassy areas.
Well done everyone!

Happy Thursday Tiny Miracles
Today our babies have explored what they can do with their hands and feet, the babies where able to explore shaving foam and conditioner, some of the babies explored the tuff tray by walking over it, patting it, moving the foam with the cars, balls and other tools around the room, the babies where able to pull themselves up to access the tray before we moved it onto the floor for the babies to explore with their feet. The babies showed their enjoyment by clapping smiling and lots of babbles.
The aims of this activity was to promote their communication and language as they could identify the objects they used to move the foam, their fine and gross motor skills, early cause and effect while exploring a new sensory experience.
Well done Tiny Miracles.

What a roaring day we have had with our Big Inventors, Clever Thinkers and Holiday Club children!🦖
Today all of the children have been getting involved creating their very own dinosaurs, the children showed excellent control and fine motor skills as they have been using scissors to cut out the body parts of the dinosaur before using the glue stick to stick the body parts together. "I like a T-Rex" one child called out as they created their dinosaur.
We have also been very busy exploring the coloured rice. The children have been showing great mathematical development as they identified the numbers in the tray before using their index finger with their preferred hand to copy the numbers in the rice. The children have also been grasping handfuls of rice and watching as they sprinkled it back into the tray, "it sounds like rain" one child said.
The children have also been creating lovely pictures using the paint. The children held the paintbrush in their preferred hand before making various marks on their paper. "I made a rainbow" one child said, "look at my dinosaur" another child excitedly said.
Well done to all of our children taking part in our activities today.

🎶 🐸 5 little speckled frogs 🐸 🎶
Our Small Discoverers have shown a great interest in the different number rhymes, in particular '5 little speckled frogs'. Today we have spent time exploring in the hair gel with our very own frogs.
The children used their hands to explore the texture of the gel and used their fingers and whole hand to create various marks, "wow" one child said as they noticed the lines left behind in the tray, "errr" another giggled as they stuck their tongue out and showed me their hands, it was very funny! We also sang the rhythm as the children explored the frogs, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5" a child helped staff say as we counted the frogs out, "ribbet" another said as they jumped up and down.
We have also spent time painting our own masterpieces with the different patterned paint spreaders. The children used them to dab as well as create lines and circle like shapes all over their paper. "Blue" one of the children said as they began their artwork picking up the spreader in the blue paint, "hand" another said as they used their hand to create more marks. The children showed fantastic concentration and fine motor skills as they took part in this activity 🎨.
Wonderful work everyone! 👏

Clever thinkers have enjoyed exploring the different activities in the room today. The children have enjoyed working on their writing skills by tracing over different shapes using the soapy cloths to clean them off the tray. They have also used their number skills to match the correct amount of loose parts to the numeral card. The children have worked on their categorising skills, threading and sorting the different colour buttons and beads. Clever thinkers have also enjoyed role playing in the home corner and in the dolls house, acting out different scenarios.
Holiday Club have enjoyed working on their diamond art, carefully matching the correct colours and placing the gems to create their pictures.

Mini Adventurers have had a lovely Wednesday at nursery!
Today we focused on our fine motor skills using our tweezers and tongs to grab hold of our pretend bugs through the masking tape. The children had brilliant control when fishing for the worms and ladybirds. We also use our magnifying glasses to inspect the animals through the gaps in the masking tape.
We have enjoyed lots of roleplay in our home corner in our builder and fire fighter outfits. We've also been doing some lovely mark making on a large piece of paper. We did a fantastic job of taking turns and creating a lovely picture together with all of our friends.
We also used some shaving foam to create towers and have some messy play. We made big and little towers and looked at all the different coloured blocks matching them up.
See you tomorrow for another fab day!
