Happy Monday all!

We have had a lovely day in Mini Adventurers! The children explored our handmade carwash. We used some cloths and water to clean up our cars. The children got to splash about in the water and use their fine motor skills to grasp the cloths. The children used some words and phrases such as 'all done' and 'clean'

We took part in some mark making to explore our creative side. We used a range of colourful chalks and our imagination to make some lovely pictures. We discussed what we were drawing and the colours we were using.

The children have loved reading our books that focus on number names. The children used their knowledge to count a range of objects on the pages in the book.

🖍️ Mark making with the Small Discoverers 🖍️

Today we have have been using the chunky crayons to create our very own masterpiece. The children grasped their crayon with their preferred hand and began to make marks with different strokes, making lines both horizontal and vertical as well as circle like shapes. "Wow" one child said as they did this, "blue" another said as they picked up the blue crayon.

The children showed fantastic physical skills throughout as well as concentration as they took part in this activity. We also used lots of words and sounds helping to develop of communication and language whilst playing alongside each other displaying wonderful social skills as they all took turns with the different colours.

Happy Friday Mini Adventurers!
Today we have been exploring the different sized and textured blocks. The children have been using their physical skills to stack the blocks up and to see how tall they could make a tower. We encouraged the children to count how many blocks they had added and to identify if they where small or big. The children where able to count "1,2,3" and one child said "a big tower".
The children have also shown amazing concentration skills during group time as they all sat lovely and listened to different stories. The children took turns searching under the different flaps on the book to see what they could find. During this we encouraged the children to name that they could see within the book.
The children within the room have been using their problem solving skills to search for the missing pieces and find where they were. We hid some of the jigsaw pieces in tin foil and encouraged the children to find the pieces and reveal what they could find. Once finding the pieces the children where able to figure out which board the jigsaw pieces went in and where they matched.

Happy friday tiny miracles,
Today we gave the children the opportunity to play with the Lego blocks. We decided to add shaving form into the mix to create a strange texture. The children really enjoyed this activity as they got to explore the textures as well as trying to build things with the objects. This activity helps the children develop their speech and language as we were talking to the children on what they could feel and what colour block they had. This activity also helps develop the children's fine and gross motor skills as the children kept reaching to pick up the blocks. The children were also using their grasp with their hands to pick up the blocks. Well done Tiny Miracles

Happy Friday Clever Thinkers and Big Inventors!

Today we have used the diggers in the sand to become builders. The children have been scooping and filling the dumper trucks to then use the sand to build with. "Mine's a big castle" 🏰 said one child, "I'm making my house" said another. This has helped to develop the children's fine motor skills when using their hands and fingers to create their buildings. It has also allowed them to develop their language by talking using different descriptive words such as "big, small, light and heavy".

We have also had some water fun using small boats and pipettes. The children had the opportunity to match the coloured pipettes to the same colour boat and fill them with water. "Squeeze" said one child "I can't do it" said another. They then worked together to help fill the pipette up with water and showed alot of perseverance. Children were then smiling and laughing when seeing the bubbles the water was making.

Mini Adventurers have been using lots of their language skills today at nursery. We have been using our vocabulary to identify the objects we have been exploring with. The children used a range of everyday words, using the objects to hold and show our friends. In our large tray, we have been exploring a sea world. We used the sea animals to explore the blue water. We introduced the animals names 'shark, whale, starfish'. Our mini Adventurers listened to the words and attempted to repeat some of them. At nursery, we develop our language during all activities and enjoy using lots of sounds, single words and short phrases.
Outside in the garden we have been exploring our physical skills. We used large movements to walk and run around the garden. We experimented with actions such as jumping, hopping and taking big steps as we joined in with our songs and nursery rhymes.
The children enjoyed using their imagination as we played with the play dough. The children moulded the dough between their hands and fingers. We pretended to make some food in the tray adding it onto our plates to share with our friends.

Today the small Discoverers have been exploring our autumnal farm tray. The children came over to the tray with interest. The small discoverers used their fine motor skills to pick up the differen materials and toys in the tray for a closer look. Some children were able to identify the different animals and sounds. While the younger children were able to make their own unique sounds as they played. The small discoverers also explored the rice crispies in the tray either using their hands feel the texture or picked up the animal toys provided to make stomping noises in the tray. We have had different coloured materials in the tray and the children played peek a boo with staff we all giggled as we did this and said "boo" to staff. As we did this activity we also sang our favourite nursery rhymes such as; 'baa baa' and 'old MacDonald'. One child was singing 'eieio' and telling us what all of the animal sounds were. One said 'mooo' as another said 'neighhh'. The children showed great social skills when playing alongside each other, taking turns of the different animals passing them along to one another.

Getting creative with the Big Inventors🫟🖌️

Today the children have been getting very creative as they have been using fantastic fine motor skills as they have made lovely picture with the paint. The children showed great control as they used their prefered hand to hold the paintbrush before creating various marks on their paper. "Its my nana's car" one child said as they explained what they had painted on their paper. "I like purple" another child called as they picked up the purple paintbrush. Throughout this activity the children all showed great concentration and focus as they created their masterpiece. "I did it!" Another child proudly called as they finished their picture.

We have also been very busy exploring with the large building bricks. The children showed great mathematical development and problem solving skills as they used the different shaped bricks to make different sculptures. "Its my house" one child said as they placed a brick to their sculpture, "I made a big tower!" Another child proudly said.

⭐Clever Thinkers⭐

Today our class engaged in a fun activity where we put together a picture of their face. We cut a photo of each child into nine pieces, and the task was to use glue to reassemble it in the correct order. Each child carefully picked up each piece and tried to match it with the others , everyone paused to think about where each piece should go, showing great concentration. When one child placed the eyes and nose in the right spots they smiled proudly and said, “That’s me!” Everyone worked so well during this activity, showing great focus, patience (even when challenges occurred), and pride in theirwork. Well done everyone !

Happy Wednesday Tiny Miracles

Today our babies have been offered the experience of exploring the small world tuff tray containing mud, sand, animals and dinosaurs. The children were really engrossed with this activity with one child climbing into the tray to get a closer look. We spoke about the feeling of the materials and the noise the animals made. Another child picked up a dinosaur and copied a grownup by stomping it around in the tray. This was an excellent opportunity to develop speech and language skills as we imitated the animals sounds.
