My favourite room is the MCR lounge. I love how it is the heart of the MCR, where events, studies and talks take place. The MCR lounge has been around for years and it’s amazing to see how it is still used and loved still

Hi! I’m Olivia, and alongside Emerald I’m the other half of your Social Sec for this year! I’m currently studying for my Masters in English Literature with a focus on Renaissance drama! My favourite room in Johns is the bar! £3 doubles and a mixer have a special place in my heart ❤

Favourite room in college:
My favourite room in John’s is not exactly a room but instead the entrance hallway into John’s. I love the grand staircase that greets you as you walk in and the walls covered in John’s history: the old Principals on the walls and the first year photos stretching back decades. You’re also likely to meet a friendly face when you walk through the double doors and that can brighten the greyest of days.

Dining room/orangery - a big fan of the older comfy cosy rooms with leather sofas and panelling, but there's something special about having panoramic views across the lawn to the other side of the Weir with seasonal weather!
