A Huge Thank You to Our Incredible Coaches & Volunteers!
As another fantastic summer of Team Durham Holiday Camps comes to an end, we want to take a moment to thank the amazing people who make our camps possible.
This summer, we were supported by 15 incredible coaches and 47 amazing volunteers, made up of both our regular volunteers and those joining us for the very first time. Their energy, enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment helped create an unforgettable experience filled with fun, laughter, and memorable moments for hundreds of children.
This summer also marked the end of an era as we said goodbye to Hamish, who has spent his final summer with us before heading off to pursue his career. Hamish has made a huge contribution to our camps over the years, and we would like to thank him for everything he has done. We wish him every success for the future!
We also said goodbye to one of our longest-standing volunteers, John "St John's Ambulance", who is also moving on to pursue university. Over the past 4½ years, John has been a valued member of the team, supporting camps with first aid, photography, and, of course, his trademark big smile. We are incredibly grateful for all of his hard work and dedication and wish him all the very best for this exciting next chapter. 😊
Quite simply, our camps could not run without the hard work, passion, and commitment of our coaches and volunteers. From all of us at Team Durham Holiday Camps, thank you to each and every one of you for giving your time, skills, and enthusiasm this summer.
We have loved every minute, and we can't wait to welcome you all back in February for our next Holiday Camp!

🌞 Thank You for an Amazing Summer! 🌞
From all of us at Team Durham Holiday Camps, we would like to wish a huge thank you to all of the parents and guardians who signed their children up for our 2026 Summer Holiday Camps.
We have loved welcoming everyone over the summer and seeing so many smiling faces, new friendships, and memorable moments.
There has been plenty of fun, laughter, and activity throughout the camps, and we hope that everyone has enjoyed being part of it as much as we have!
We look forward to seeing many of you again at our next Holiday Camp in February!
Thanks again!

Can any parents help one of our Psychology PhD students who is completing some research currently. It only takes around 10-15 mins but will help Grace to complete her research (and her course).
Study 1: a survey for parents to complete regarding the online experiences and activity of their child/young person, including ways they attempt to keep young people safe online
Parents eligible for this study will have young people: who are aged 9-25 years, who are neurotypical, who live in the UK, and who have never attended university (green poster)

Study 2: a survey for parents and neurodivergent children on how they think new online safety regulations will affect them
This study is recruiting young people aged 12-16 who are neurodivergent (e.g., have diagnosed or suspected conditions such as (but not limited to) ADHD, autism, down syndrome), and their parents- I'm particularly interested in recruiting young people for this study as they have been hard to reach so far.
