Last night we had our youngest member all kitted out and joining in (Sensei Ashley’s 3 year old daughter) making it 3 generations training in the line, we also covered another new kata, Meikyo and went over Wankan also, next week is bank holiday Monday so class won’t be on 🙇🏻

Happy heavenly birthday to Sensei Lawrence, still massively missed 🙇🏻

A few days ago Sensei Rob and myself were talking about how much some of our students have grown… so I thought I’d dig out some old pictures just to embarrass us all just a little 😂 just a shame Sensei Lawrence isn’t here to see them doing well 💯🥋

Last night some of the students who attended got their new belts as we’ve had grading, Owen went up to brown belt and little Freddie has got his purple, last night we focused on higher grade Kata (Enpi) Sensei Rob went through the kata breaking it right down for everyone, we were very happy with the way the students took to the challenge and for only 2 hours of time put into the kata I think it doesn’t look half bad, obviously way above the belt grades we had but they had a go anyways.
More pictures to come as Ethan has achieved his brown belt but unfortunately was on holiday but is back next week.

Last night we used our new mats and Sensei Rob showed us a little bit of what Sensei Coates used to put the old Osaki members through years ago and everyone loved it.
First off we started with break falls then we moved on to little scenarios where we would have to get our opponent on the floor, we then moved on to locks holds and strangles standing and on the floor, we are all aching but was so much fun.

First off I want to say a very big well done to Ethan for not only coming to training but coming with a cast on as he’s broken his wrist and had to have surgery and have a pot on! Last night we covered some grade training, little bit kata but I think everyone enjoyed the conditioning, I’m sure there will be some sore arms in the morning 💯😂, very big well done to little Josh who came out to the front and warmed the class up after getting a round of a applause for how well he did in the Inter-club we had at the beginning of the month, next session is Monday 28th 6pm -8pm if anyone wants to come along and try something new or get back into an old routine drop us a message, new faces are always welcome! 🙏🏼🥋

So on Monday the 1st we headed over to Trimdon as Sho Shin Kai Trimdon were very nice to invite us over to their annual kata competition, for some of us it was to show off our kata and for others it was a confidence booster and I think everyone performed well over expectations as we had students that have never been to a competition so it was good for them to see what it’s all about, big special shoutout to Joshua Parker for doing extra good and doing miles better than we thought with all those people watching 💯, Sensei Rob was there on the judge pannel and even gave an award out which was very nice of Trimdon in honour of Sensei Lawrence Grey who we sadly lost in March, from all of Osaki a BIG thanks to Sho Shin Kai for inviting us and making us feel welcome, instructors and students were amazing and we had a blast, OSS! 🙇🏻🥋

Yesterday we had a good turn out and got a lot done, done some one step and five step sparing and practiced kata, it was a very good workout for everyone 💯
Next session is next Monday 17th see you all there 🙇🏻

Last night we had an amazing lesson perfecting kata (Heian Sandan & Nidan) we also had a brief look at Heian Yondan too, also we looked at freestyle techniques (Kizami zuki Gyakuzuki) plus many more
We also introduced one step to our white belt which he took to like a duck to water 💯
