The Great British Summer Savings scheme is running from 25 June to 1 September 2026, helping families feel a bit less squeezed this summer.
The new scheme includes reduced VAT on days out, including tickets at attractions like soft play, adventure centres and theme parks, children's tickets for theatres and cinemas, and children's meals in restaurants. Children aged 5 to 15 in England will also be able to travel free on local bus services throughout August.
For further information about the scheme visit the Summer Savings link.

A brilliant morning in Year 5! The children enjoyed baking cakes for their pom-pom treat! They worked as a team to follow the recipe, weigh their ingredients and most importantly …….decorate their cakes!
We enjoyed eating them and even had enough to take home!

Have you got a toddler? Would you like to meet other parents/carers and help your child to make friends, play and learn new skills? If they are starting our nursery this could also get them used to our lovely environment, meet our staff and have new friends.
Come along to our Nursery building between 2pm & 3pm every Monday during term time. There is a £1 voluntary donation. Mrs Scott can not wait to meet you!

💷 Money matters post - Did you know that you can no longer get school holidays food vouchers from the government?
From 1 April 2026, the government stopped the Household Support Fund which paid for the vouchers and changed the way it supports families.
We know many families used these vouchers in the school holidays, so we want to help you plan ahead.
✅ Good news – support is still available:
Eligible children can join Fun and Food holiday activities (with a meal or snack included) www.durham.gov.uk/funandfood
