We have received the sad news that Cuth’s alumnus Darrell Buttery MBE (English Lit, 1964), died on 27th July this year. His memorial Service will be held at York Minster (and live streamed) on Tuesday 30th August 2022 at 1.30pm.
A tribute from his good friend James Lee -
β€˜A good, great man has left us so much the poorer by his departure from this life. Darrell and I shared lodgings as undergraduates at Saint Cuthbert’s Society, Durham University, over 60 years ago and remained firm friends to the end. Despite living on different continents for much of our lives, we spent many happy times together in York and Durham.’ James Lee (French, 1964)

What a find!
We always love finding or receiving old and interesting photos. Please send us a copy of any you have to share πŸ’š

This wonderful photograph of the first and second crews of 1904 was found in the back of a picture frame by a member of the public and sent to Charlotte Carter (former Boat Club Captain). What an amazing find! Please do let us know if you have any old or interesting photos.

Meet Kirstin McCann, Cuth's new JCR President. In her own words "I'm Kirstin, a huge fan of the Frog, a fiend for a Cuth's silent disco and the new President of the Society" πŸ’š
