Woodlands Day Nursery is a private day nursery situated in Meadowfield, Durham. We cater for children 0-12 years and we are currently looking to appoint a friendly, highly motivated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to our team.
Hours
The hours for this post will be a minimum of 30 per week working up to 15 hours extra overtime as required. Working hours will be between the hours of 7.30-6.30pm on a flexible rota system. This post is a permanent contract.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
Planning and leading age and stage appropriate activities and learning experiences for children to the highest standard
Being a key person for a group of children and taking responsibility for observations, learning journeys and development summaries
Ensuring a safe, secure and caring environment is maintained at all times
Creating enabling environments that are enhanced as and when required to ensure children remain inspired and engaged
Communicating effectively with children, families and any external bodies
Following company policies and procedures including safeguarding, SEND and Health and Safety and ensure all legislation in relation to these is complied with
Any other duties as required by the nursery manager or deputy manager within the scope of the role.
What we are looking for:
Qualifications required:
Full and relevant Level 2 or 3 in Childcare qualification (Essential)
A current food hygiene certificate (Desirable)
A current paediatric first aid certificate (Desirable)
Experience required:
Experience of working within a nursery setting – preferably 1 years post qualifying experience (Essential)
