Did you know that Ushaw is home to the largest collection of statues by Karl Hoffmann outside the Vatican?

Hoffmann was a Jewish convert to Catholicism and part of the Nazarene movement of artists who lived and worked in Rome during the 1850s. His beautifully detailed sculptures can still be found throughout Ushaw today.
