A parent told us recently they were expecting to pay when they came to one of our groups and were really surprise that there was no charge. They told us we needed to tell people this more, so we are.

All of our groups, Baby and Me, Infant Massage, Chill Kids, Being a Parent, Time Out for Dads, Triple P Teen, Stepping Stones, Play Together, our online programmes, our holiday activities and everything else we offer; it's all free to families in County Durham.

Time out for Parents: Dads is due to start online on 24 September.

If you are a dad, or a dad-to-be, this course is for you! The five workshops focus on the importance of dads and helping you to build an even better relationship with your children.

Parenting can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone!! ✨✨

Join our 8-week Circle of Security Parenting Program and gain a deeper understanding of your child’s emotional needs while strengthening a secure, trusting relationship with them.

Through guided discussions and reflections, parents will build confidence in responding to emotions, behaviour, and everyday parenting challenges.

📅 Starts: Thursday 8 October
⏰ Time: 9.30am – 11.30am
📍 Location: Jubilee Centre
⏳ Duration: Weekly sessions for 8 weeks

Participants are required to attend all 8 sessions to receive a Certificate of Completion.

Our School Dog Sammy greets children at the school gates every Friday morning. He loves a tickle behind the ear and friendly pat from the queue of children as they start their day!

Dads are welcome at all of our groups and activities, but we know that sometimes they would prefer something just for dads!

Between now and December 2026, we are running drop-ins where you can find out all about what we do for dads!

You don't have to be a dad to attend (though obviously you can be :) ) - m**s, grandads, uncles and male carers are all welcome. Pop in, find out what's on offer, and then please share it with the dads and male carers in your life!

Dads and Male Carers Coordinator, Craig Williams will be on hand to answer all your questions (or just have a bit of a chat!).

Will your child turn 5 between 1 September 2027 and 31 August 2028?

If so, you need to complete an application online to tell us which school you would like your child to attend from September 2027.

Visit www.durham.gov.uk/primaryschoolplaces where you can access a useful guide to help with your application. The easiest way to apply is online. If you are unable to apply online, paper application forms are available on request.

You still need to apply even if your child attends the nursery unit attached to the school, or already has a sibling at the school. You will also need to apply for a place for year 3 in a junior school if you wish your child to attend there.

Applications open 1 September 2026 and close midnight 15 January 2027.

We've been having a clear out and have lots of plastic tubs and trays. Ideal for garages, sheds or gardens. If you would like some please help yourself. We would rather they were reused than thrown into landfill.
You can find them along our fence in the carpark of our school.
