The Prince’s Trust is a youth charity that helps change young lives. The Team programme re-engages young people, helping them to think about their futures.
We run The King’s Trust 14 week Team Programme at East Durham College (Peterlee and Houghall Campus), to help young people (aged 16 to 25) get into work, education and training. The TEAM programme is a great way for young people to gain the experience, skills and confidence they need to find jobs. King's Trust 50th Anniversary Challenge Relay!
This morning, Gillian, Head of Department at Etc. College, handed the baton over to Craig and Lewis for the next leg of the King’s Trust Relay across the region.
We also welcomed Andrew and Clinton from Durham Freemasons, who sponsored the event to purchase T-shirts and high vis tabards.

At the final hurdle now, where Craig and Lewis passed on the baton to the King's Trust staff at Derwentside College ending our leg of the relay!
It has been an amazing journey and we are very glad to be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of The King's Trust. We wish everyone luck and I hope everyone has an amazing time!
I would like to say a big thank you to The Durham Freemasons for helping fund this event, it has been greatly appreciated by everyone involved!

From Durham Bus Station our GoNorthEast x15 bus has arrived to take us to Derwentside College to pass the baton (which isn't lost)!

With Craig and Lewis being ahead of schedule they took a nice walk from Houghall College to Durham Bus Station via the river, even popping into Greggs to get some food and a drink for the hard work they were doing on such a hot day!

Next stop was at Houghall Campus where we went to see some of the beautiful sights and even tried to see the goats (which weren't there)!
We even went to see our old King's Trust building, which will sadly soon be knocked down due to the new development plan which will completely transform our college!

Me and Craig waiting for the bus at the Moorcock after missing our first bus 😆, luckily we are still on time! We also see the 24 Arriva roll in smoothly to pick us up to take us into Durham to see our next landmark at Durham Cathedral! 👑
