Nice to see some of our display units have started their new life, on a journey to new homes.
Here’s one in North Road, looking good in The Oriental Shop at the top of North Road. Show your support and buy some chillies. Happy Chinese New Year.

CUSTOMER NOTICE :
It is with great sadness and deep regret, that after 20 years of trading, we will be closing our lovely shop.
Due to my Husband, David Robinson, being gravely ill in Hospital, my responsibilities have to be with him, until he is strong enough to come home.
We will be trading today and tomorrow to sell off what stock remains.
If you want a few bargains or just want to come and say goodbye to me and my lovely team, who I am truly grateful to, for being there for me during this difficult time.
Also, the sad loss of my colleague Denise’s Husband, Stephen Gill, has only made me realise that the time has come to move on, while we can.
The last four years have been especially challenging, trying to survive business in Durham.
We want to thank all our loyal customers and supporters, who have continued to shop with us over those 20 years. I cannot thank you all personally, but you know who you are.
Come to see us today or tomorrow for a few bits and a cuddle.❤️❤️

We have found a bag with some belongings in it. Here is a picture of the owner.
If this is you or anyone you know, please collect in the shop. Thank you.

Customer Notice: just so everyone can stop making up their own stories across Durham…we haven’t closed our shop, we were closed for one day only, which was explained on Monday on this site.
So, whisperers, tweeters and gossipers, can you please tell the right story please. ROBINSONS GREENGROCERS ARE STILL OPEN AS USUAL.
Thank you to all you well wishers and supporters. Much appreciated. Thank you.

Customer Notice:
We will be open today as normal. Apologies to any customers who were unable to get their shopping yesterday, but you can pop in today. One minute from the new Bus Station, fill your bags with lovely fresh fruit and vegetables, then back on the bus home. Everyone needs hot wholesome food this weather. Mmmm I feel a casserole coming on the menu with some herb dumplings.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Welcome to 2024 customers. After a devastating 4 years, Durham now has a new Bus Station. This new focal point to the city, and more importantly to Robinsons as a business, will now bring commuters, visitors and shoppers into the heart of Durham again.
It has been a long 4 years, filled with trucks, diesel fumes, queue after queue of confused students, disorientated travellers, the longest waiting time for buses ever known and a drop in consumers into this lovely city.
As a 20 year old business, we’ve seen a lot of changes to Durham, not all encouraging to local businesses especially. But, looking around the city, Landlords and Councillors seem to be listening to the word on the street. Encouraging new blood, innovation and interesting shops, experiences and enterprise. It might be an historic city, but it needs to encompass that with futuristic and new experience to encourage growth.
So here’s to a New Bus Station, a New City Hub and a new start to the reinvention of Durham City as a thriving, happening city. Also, call in for an apple, banana or a healthy quick bite on your way into town while you’re passing.😀👍

After 15 years we are still supporting our Locally made Christmas Wreaths maker. They’re as beautiful up close as ever, fresh ferns and holly picked in Neville’s Cross area, all biodegradable and smelling gorgeous. Festive and natural. Order your personal one by phone if you you prefer. Thank you for supporting 2 local family businesses, who also employ local people, who also shop locally, so everyone locally benefits. Keep it local as much as possible.
That’s what improves communities. We’ve been trying to do this for nearly 20 years. Come on lovely people of County Durham, show everyone else how to have a great city.
