In a world that can feel overwhelming at times, this beautiful David Attenborough video is a gentle reminder to slow down and notice the wonder around us. The video footage along with his calming voice is so grounding.
Yoga teaches us the same thing: to pause, breathe, reconnect, and remember that we are part of something much bigger and deeply beautiful. 🌍✨
If you’re having a tough week, take a few quiet minutes for this.

My son working hard from home with Layla keeping him company. It’s a good reminder of how easy it is to sit still for far too long. If you’ve been sitting a while, try a few gentle movements, even a few minutes can make a real difference.
Twists
Shoulder rolls
Chin to chest stretches
Windscreen wiper feet
Knee raises

Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out with such kindness and support following my recent post. It truly means a lot. I just wanted to reassure everyone that my classes are still running, and I very much look forward to continuing to practice with you.
While I am on this health journey, yoga is continuing to support me in so many positive ways, and I’m grateful to still be able to share that with you.
There has been one change. Unfortunately, I’ve had to cancel my mat yoga class at Waterhouses. However, my other classes are continuing as normal:
✨ Brandon Community Hall, Mat Yoga, Thursdays 7:00 to 8:00pm
✨ Belmont Parish Hall, Chair Yoga, Tuesdays 4:00 to 5:00pm
✨ Hamsteels Community Hall, Esh Winning, Chair Yoga, Wednesdays 10:30 to 11:30am
At times when I need to step back for treatment, my wonderful friend Leigh from ElleJay Yoga and Massage will be covering classes. You will be in very safe and caring hands.
Thank you again for your continued support, patience, and encouragement. It means more than you know, and I’m looking forward to seeing you very soon 🙏💛

Firstly, an apology for being a little quiet on here recently. Some of you will know why, but for those who don’t, the last few weeks I have had breast cancer surgery. It has been quite a strange thing to get my head around., like many people I have always tried to look after myself. I have exercised all my life, try to eat well, and generally live a healthy lifestyle. It made me realise that cancer really does not discriminate.
What I have learned though is that while yoga may not stop us from getting ill, it can help enormously in how we cope. The breathing practices have been invaluable and I have used them many times to steady myself when my mind starts racing. Years of yoga have also gently taught me acceptance. Sometimes things happen that we cannot control, and learning to meet those moments with a little calm has helped a great deal, along with the occasional mantra that lives on my fridge (thanks Leigh and Linda). Then there is recovery., the gentle movements, body awareness and respect for what the body needs have helped me make a really good recovery after the operation.
One of my lovely friends said something that has really stayed with me, ‘if you look after your body, it will look after you when you need it’. That feels very true right now. I feel very fortunate to have been cared for by a fantastic surgeon and medical team, and very grateful for the kindness and support around me. I still have some tough treatment ahead of me, but with the support of yoga, my wonderful friends, my amazing son Robbie, and of course my dog Layla, I know I will get through it.
I have so many people to thank, but a very special thank you to Leigh and Nalini for keeping my classes going while I recover. I really cannot thank you enough X

In November I was in Cape Verde, paddling in the sea with lemon sharks and breathing through the panic when the sharks bumped into me! It also happened to be my first time ever wearing Crocs (I know, I’m clearly late to the party) they turned out to be very comfortable.
The New Year always reminds me that trying new things, whether it’s on or off the yoga mat keeps us feeling alive, curious, and connected. Here’s to saying ‘yes’ a little more often in 2026, trying new things, on the mat, and in life.
What is one new thing you’re open to trying this year?
