Today is St Andrew's Day!

Celebrating St Andrew as patron saint of Scotland and also marks the start of a season of Scottish winter festivals, including Hogmanay (on New Year's Eve) and Burns Night (on 25 January).

Today at 11am (GMT) there will be a two minute silence to mark Armistice Day.

Armistice Day is a day of memorial observed since the end of WW1 to recall the end of the hostilities of the first world war that formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month (11/11/1918).

Wearing a poppy to symbolise this was inspired by the poem 'In Flanders Fields' by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae.

THE MONTH OF MOVEMBER IS UPON US.

If you've not come across this facial hair phenomenon, let us introduce you to it.

Each November, those who are able to shave off their moustaches and re-grow them over the course of the month to raise awareness and funds for men's health.

In celebration of Black History Month, Durham University Business School will be hosting a virtual event welcoming speakers from the US and UK to explore the exclusion of black voices from intellectual debate, both historically and in the present day.
