Water Fight!
This week, we took advantage of the beautiful sunshine and had a water fight! The children absolutely loved soaking all of their friends, and all of the staff too! We offered plenty of water opportunities for all ages groups, such as a paddling pool, bottles and buckets, the water tray, and a calm foam area. We all had so much fun!

Preschool have been absolutely loving their new ice-cream shop role play area. They have been using their imagination skills while playing with their friends in the ice cream shop, and developing their fine motor skills by making their very own ice-cream using play dough!

Some garden fun...🐘

This week, our toddler room have been learning about mini beasts! We created a nature scenery using play dough, lots of insects and lots of natural materials. They used magnifying glasses to inspect and explore the table, learning about all of the bugs that they could find.
This activity helped to support:

🌏Understanding the world - exploring real life experiences, early understanding of nature and mini habitats
🧐 Curiosity - independent exploration, asking questions

We are so excited to share that over the Easter holidays, Nellie’s has had a makeover! We’ve redesigned our spaces and introduced new environments to further support and enhance our little ones’ learning and play. Everything has been thoughtfully updated to create a fun and nurturing space for the children. We can’t wait for you all to see it! We hope you all love it as much as we do!🐘

This week, we have been very busy learning about Easter in a range of different ways! Here are some of our favourites..
In our baby room, the children created their very own Easter eggs using a potato masher! They used their fine and gross motor skills to stamp onto their paper, creating some beautiful Easter eggs.

Our toddlers explored an Easter themed sensory bin, made up of spaghetti for grass, Easter eggs, chicks, and some Easter shapes. The children were able to scoop the spaghetti, explore with their hands and so much more! This provided sensory exploration and independent play!

Our preschoolers worked on their hand-eye coordination. The children used the spoons, tweezers and hands to fill each of their Easter eggs. There was an array of different objects such as feathers, pom poms and rice!

World Book Day - 5th March 2026!
To celebrate World Book Day this year, we would like to invite our children to come to nursery dressed as a character from their favourite book, and to bring along their favourite books to share with all of our friends!
