If you are coming to Durham next year, DUSCR - Durham University Society of Change Ringers would love to see you!
DUSCR practice weekly and ring for Sunday services at our home tower, Brancepeth ๐, as well as regularly ringing at other towers in Durham. Many quarter peals are also rung, and occasionally there is a peal attempt.
There are also many exciting socials ๐ฒโ๏ธeach term, plus weekly post-practice pub ๐ป, and brunch โ๐ณ๐ฝ๏ธ๐ฅon a Sunday! Tours this year have taken us to Gateshead, Leeds and Lincolnshire. Look out for an article in the Ringing World soon about our most recent tour ๐
Come and find us at the Fresherโs Fair, or contact our glorious Master Alec Bell: [email protected]; and check us out on Instagram, . There is also more information on our website: https://change-ringerssociety.webspace.durham.ac.uk/
We look forward to seeing you in Durham! ๐

DUSCR had a brilliant time on the 2023 Summer Tour to Northamptonshire, organised by our master, Andrew Booth. We stayed 3 nights at Miles Bakerโs house (master in 2022) and rang at 18 towers both in and on the way to Northamptonshire. Ringing highlights included a superb touch of plain hunt on 11 at Kettering and the hilarious mess we made pulling off in rounds at the anticlockwise ring at Barton Seagrave (half the ringers looked the wrong way!) The evenings included lots of beer (with over 120 pints drunk over the course of the weekend!) and games, including the usual cards and tricky ibble dibble. We also played the traditional game of Wok in the field, we might have to buy a new set of balls for next time!

DUSCR had a fantastic day out to Hartlepool today on the Treasurer's Tour. We rang at St Oswald's, Art Gallery, Stranton (which have been recently rehung) and the superb St Aidan's. Thank you and well done to Vera for organising such a fabulous tour!
