Annual day to encourage people to learn CPR skills. Every year 30,000 cardiac arrests happen outside of hospital and without CPR the chances of surviving are zero.

Happy 76th Birthday to our National Health Service!

Apparently:

In America, the average family of four with health insurance in 2023 paid $31,065 in medical expenses, including insurance premiums.

41% of Americans have medical debt.

7.9% of people in America don’t have medical insurance.

With the arrival of warmer weather, many of us will have the windows open to let some cool air in. But, if you’ve got young children at home, it’s important to remember that small children are curious and want to see what’s happening outside but have no real understanding of danger.

Plus, a small child’s head is heavy compared to their body. That means they can easily topple.

So,

🪟 Keep low furniture away from open windows so that children can’t climb up and fall out – even on the ground floor

🪟 It’s a good idea to install window catches (to limit how far they can open) and locks if you can

🪟 If you opt for a lock keep the keys somewhere you can find them in case there’s a fire and you need to get out

Please share to remind others to be safe this summer.

Please take just 15 minutes to learn CPR or refresh your skills.

It can take just 15 seconds for a child to lose consciousness if they get tangled in a blind cord. Brain death can occur in a few minutes.

Make sure yours are safely secured with a cleat hook or tensioner to keep cords and chains safely away. All new blinds should come with these.

And, try to keep furniture well out of the way of blind cords or chains so your toddler can’t climb up and reach them.
