🌳🌦 Outdoor Learning🌦🌳

There are many benefits of year-round outdoor play including:
🌳improved mental health
🌳opportunities for 'bigger' movement
🌳development of fine and gross motor skills
🌳problem solving and decision making
🌳development of self esteem
🌳increased social interaction
🌳further creativity and role play
🌳assessing risks

With this in mind, we like to take the children outside in all weathers, to ensure they experience the maximum benefit of our outdoor space.

While outside they can explore our two large gardens, huge canopied sandpit, mud kitchen, digging areas, music and water walls, sensory garden, hard surfaces for bikes, climbing frames and much more.

Blocks and tree stumps become a 'Princess castle', straight from the imagination of one of our little ones!

🖌✍️Look at those little hands getting stuck in!✍️🖌

These babies are beginning to understand how the movements they make are forming marks, and building those little muscles which will be so important when they start writing.

But most importantly, they're playing and experimenting with their friends

Making wrap faces was lots of fun - 2 cucumbers for eyes, 1 tomato for a nose, lots of cheese and ham for hair and mouth...but the best part of all, eating it at the end!

Thank-you for all your efforts in raising sponsorship money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust - a cause very close to our hearts.

The children had a fantastic day taking part in their sponsored events: Squirrels used their orienteering skills to read the map, spot local landmarks and reach their destination, Badgers and Foxes were expert cyclist working their way around the bike track and Hedgehogs and Rabbits toddled over, under, around and through their obstacle course!

We are just gathering in our final bits of sponsorship and will let you know our Grand Total by the end of the week.

Rabbits have been using different tools, and their fingers, to make tracks in flour.

At nursery, the children will experiment with mud, water, sand, playdough, flour, paint and many other sensory mediums. This sort of play is important for many areas of development, and sometimes it can break the children's curiosity when we worry about keeping their clothes clean.

With that in mind, we ask that you send children to nursery in clothes that you don't mind showing signs of play 😀

🇬🇧 Coronation Party 🇬🇧

The sun wasn't shining but we didn't let the rain dampen our spirits!

Face painting, crown decorating, flag making, picnic lunch, Victoria sponge, scones, themed sensory play and much, much more. We loved celebrating with our nursery family.

If your child didn't receive their commemorative medal, please ask their Key Person as we will have out one aside for them.

I hope you all had a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend
