Hands on geometry today. We have been working on parallel and adjacent lines along with internal angles over the last few weeks. Today making the shapes, measuring angles and extending lines on the table created an activity where it all started to make sense to the child.

Saturday was our local Agricultural Show and in amongst my duties as Chair of the Industrial Section, I found time to arrange some flowers for the flower section. Delighted to get Best Exhibit and most points in the section.

This week in the numeracy sessions in the turoring room we have been exploring angles and triangles. Lots of hands on making, taking apart and measuring helped consolidate the learning. The older learners then used their knowledge to help them solve directional problems with compass points and turns.

As a dyslexic myself, I can identiy with many of the points in this article. However they have never held me back and have instead lead to me becoming an excellent problem solver and given me a greater understanding of how to help children and young people realise their potential too!

Dyslexia is known for causing reading and writing difficulties but that's not the only symptoms

The new erasable pens were a huge hit with all my learners this week. Lots of wows, cries of its magic and one even said it made learning way more fun.

Very exciting delivery of pens arrived this week and the best bit is they are erasable! Hoping that the flow of ink rather than pencil will help some of my young writers. Which character pen would you choose, I am going for the bee.

The last few weeks have all been about new activities and games for some of the younger learners. Practical hands on activities that reinforce learning in a fun way.
