Encouraging friendships from an early stage is something we encourage daily at nursery. This is an area that we focus on heavily in our orchard room especially, when the children are learning about boundaries and having an awareness of others.

During transition periods, the staff encourage lots of interactions through play and offer the children safe spaces to build friendships with each other. There is nothing we love more than a group hug and a sings song!

The solar eclipse really caught everyone’s attention this week! Our preschool children enjoyed seeing the mechanics of what happens when you experiment with light and learning how the eclipse works and our orchard children created their very own moon sand and play dough planets 🪐

Did you know that promoting Dental and Oral hygiene is a statutory requirement in the EYFS framework?

Promoting dental hygiene in the early years is essential to prevent painful tooth decay, support speech development, and build lifelong healthy habits. Good oral care protects baby teeth, which guide adult teeth into place. Our Orchard children have demonstrated, today their fantastic teeth brushing skills!

As we prepare to assist the children in their final weeks before starting primary school, we invite you to explore some resources available in our reception area that can support your children at home as well.
Feel free to take one of our 3-2-1 Ready for School sheets or borrow a book if you believe it would aid your children in navigating the upcoming changes. If you do borrow a book, kindly inform us so that we can keep track.
Additionally, we have some informative posters featuring QR code links that will be beneficial for parents as well!
