📚BOOK LIBRARY📚

We would like to say a massive thank you to Dominic for his fantastic handiwork in creating and donating this beautiful book library for our school book swap! 📖✨

Dominic is daddy to our past pupil Farrah and our P5 pupil Jude who have been proud members of our Eco Team, who are encouraging everyone to share their pre-loved books so that they can be enjoyed by someone new. ♻️📚

Our book swap is a wonderful way to reduce waste, reuse resources and share our love of reading with others. We are so grateful to Dominic for helping us bring our idea to life with such a fantastic addition to our school. 🌍💚

Our fantastic P7 pupils act as a supportive friend and familiar face to their buddies - welcoming them into school in the morning, playing with them in the yard and helping them settle into school life! 🖍️ 🎨

Welcome to our Wonderful P1 & P7 pupils 💙💛

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming our new P1 pupils to St Mary’s! They were warmly welcomed by our P7 pupils, who did a fantastic job helping them feel happy and settled on their very first day. 💫

The children had a lovely time meeting each other, playing together and enjoying snack time.

It was a very special day as our youngest pupils begin their learning journey, while our P7 pupils start their final chapter at St Mary’s. 📚✨

We can’t wait to see all the friendships, memories and adventures that lie ahead!

A little poem for our Primary 1 and Primary 7 parents and carers ahead of the new school year 💫

Tomorrow we welcome our new Primary 1 pupils, as they begin their very first learning journey at St Mary’s, and our P7 pupils, who are starting the final chapter of their primary school journey with us. 💙💛

We know there will be lots of excitement, smiles and perhaps a few nervous butterflies — but we can’t wait to make it a wonderful morning for everyone! 🌟

P1 & P7 will be in school from 9am–11am.

On Wednesday 2nd September we welcome back all pupils - We can’t wait to see you all and begin another fantastic year of learning, friendship, laughter and memories together! 🌈✨

Is your child starting pre-school or primary school this September? 🎒

There are lots of simple ways you can help your child feel ready and confident for starting school.

💬 Talk together about what their new school or setting might be like before they start. This can help ease worries and build excitement.

📖 Why not visit your local library and let your child choose a book that interests them? Sharing stories together helps children feel content, secure and confident, while also supporting important language and communication skills.

Remember, you don't have to read every word! Looking at the pictures, talking about the story and asking questions are all great ways to enjoy books together.
