This week’s Year 11 Assembly focused on our pastoral theme, Raise Standards Daily, and what that means as pupils begin the move into Key Stage 4 and GCSE study.
Mr Willis encouraged pupils to see this year as a new year and a new start: an opportunity to raise standards academically, make positive choices, build new friendships, embrace new experiences and make the most of school life.
An important part of that message was also the support available to pupils. Year 11 pupils are encouraged to speak up when they need help and to make use of the support around them through their Form Tutors, Head of Year and the wider pastoral system. High expectations matter, but so too does making sure pupils have the encouragement and support needed to meet them.
We were also delighted to welcome our new Year 11 pupils, pictured here, and our Year 11 Form Tutors: Mrs McKinney, Mr Riddles and Mrs McMullan-Ramírez.
As a year group, we hope to encourage, support and challenge our pupils to keep moving forward throughout the year, taking positive steps each day and making the most of the opportunities ahead.
Mr Willis wishes all of our Year 11 pupils every success for the year ahead and looks forward to a positive and successful year together.

☀️ New friends, fresh air and four very important paws! 🐾💗

Yesterday, some of our boarders made the most of the summer sunshine with a walk around the beautiful grounds of our school, the Royal School Dungannon. We’re incredibly lucky to have such stunning surroundings right here on our doorstep, there’s no need to leave campus to enjoy a little outdoor adventure! 🌳🌸

Of course, the highlight was having our beautiful boarding dog, Basel, leading the way and making sure everyone felt right at home! 🐶

An afternoon filled with sunshine, smiles and new friendships, the perfect start to life at RSD Boarding! ☀️🏡
