Weather update - Tuesday 6th January 2026

A number of local primary schools and preschools have announced further closures for tomorrow.

Despite the yellow weather warning for snow and ice, Buddies will remain open, provided it is safe to do so and staff & children are not exposed to unnecessary risk.

For families who may be affected by school or preschool closures, requiring additional hours outside of their usual booking pattern Buddies have arrangements in place to accommodate a limited number of additional children within our Afterschool and Preschool rooms for the full day.

Requests can be made by email or telephone in the morning.

We kindly ask that parents of children who will not be attending Buddies tomorrow please keep us updated.

We want to reassure you that Buddies plan to remain open and operating as normal.

As always, we ask parents to take extra care when travelling and to ensure children are dressed appropriately for the cold weather conditions.

Spooky fun at Buddies! 🎃

Our little Buddies have been busy celebrating Halloween across all the rooms - from carving pumpkins & getting creative with crafts to showing off their cooking skills in the kitchen! 🍪🥣

We've had such a 'fang'tastic week full of laughter, learning & lots of halloween magic. 🧙‍♀️

Please note:
Buddies will be closed on Friday 31st October and will re-open on Monday 3rd November.

Autumn Adventures! 🌲🍂

Our children have been busy collecting leaves during outdoor play to explore through hands-on play within the room.

The children have used the leaves to get involved in creative play, sensory exploration and some imaginative play through tuff tray set ups.

We love turning simple outdoor moments into learning opportunities and magical memories. ✨

All about me bags’ 💼

The children brought in their 'all about me bags' which help aid a deeper understanding of who they are and what their likes and interests are. This will help build on the connection and relationships which are so vitally important between home and Buddies. 🤩

From favourite toys to family photos, each bag was full of personality, pride and big smiles. 😆

So proud of our little learners for sharing their stories with their peers on their carefully selected items, which they felt individually represented them. ✨

We are seeking enthusiastic individual’s to join our friendly and dedicated team as Childcare Assistant’s.

Part time: 24hrs-30hrs per week
(between the hours 7.30am-6pm)
Days to be agreed with the applicant

Full time: 40hrs per week
(Monday-Friday)

School run driver : 24-30hrs per week
(Monday-Friday)
Hours to be agreed with the applicant
*Must be over 25yrs old*

What we are looking for-
Essential Criteria :

A qualification in childcare
A minimum of 1years experience working with children

Desirable Criteria :

A valid Safeguarding & child protection certificate
Food Hygiene certificate
Experience working with children within a daycare setting (knowledge of the minimum standards)

Our after-school children were thrilled to welcome Ronan to Buddies for an inspiring session of Fit Minds coaching over the summer! 🥳

From imitating animals to groovy dance moves, creative games and energizing stretching sessions- our children brought their A-game in fun & focus! 🤩
