🚒 A Fantastic Day at Titanic Belfast 🚒

P6/7 enjoyed an unforgettable day today at Titanic Belfast!

The children took part in the exciting Get the Message hands-on workshop, where they raced against time to crack codes, decipher clues, and uncover hidden messages using authentic communication methods from the Titanic era. They had great fun learning and practising Morse code, semaphore, and signal flags, working together to solve challenges and develop their communication skills.

Following the workshop, the children enjoyed an immersive tour of Titanic Belfast, exploring the sights, sounds, and stories behind one of the world's most famous ships. It was a fascinating and memorable experience that brought history to life.

😊 This was truly a day we will never forget, made possible through the fantastic Building Bridges Project with our friends from Urbleshanny National School. We are so grateful for the wonderful opportunities this partnership continues to provide for our pupils.

🌟 P7 Trip to Todds Leap 🌟

Our P7 class had a fantastic trip to Todds Leap yesterday as part of their end-of-year celebrations.

The day was filled with laughter, excitement, adventure, and plenty of fun. From start to finish, the children embraced every challenge and thoroughly enjoyed spending time together, creating special memories with their classmates.

As their time in primary school draws to a close, it was wonderful to see them celebrating their years together and making memories that will last a lifetime. A great day was had by all, and we are sure it is one that our P7 pupils will remember for many years to come!

πŸŽ“ P7 Leavers' Assembly πŸŽ“

Today we held a very special assembly for our P7 children and their families. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate the many achievements, memories, and experiences that have shaped their primary school journey. We would like to thank everyone who attended and helped make the occasion so special. A particular word of thanks goes to Fr. Heagney for joining us and sharing this important milestone with our school community.

Although our P7 pupils are not quite finished primary school just yet, we wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate them on all they have accomplished during their years with us. We wish our P7 pupils every success, happiness, and blessing as they prepare to begin the next exciting chapter of their lives. We know they have bright futures ahead and will always remain a valued part of the Derrylatinee family.

Good luck, P7! 🌟

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Our Term 3 Winners! πŸŽ‰

What a fantastic term of learning, reading, and achievement it has been!

πŸ† A huge congratulations to our Accelerated Reader Champions. P5 have done it again, earning the title of Top Accelerated Reader Class for the second term in a row! What an incredible achievement and a testament to their love of reading and dedication throughout the term.

πŸ‘ We would also like to give special recognition to two outstanding readers. Congratulations to Cara in P7, who has read over one million words, and to Grainne in P5, who has achieved the remarkable milestone of reading over five million words! These are truly fantastic accomplishments, and we are immensely proud of both girls.

πŸ‘ Well done also to all of our Mathletics winners from P3–P7. Your hard work, perseverance, and enthusiasm for maths have been wonderful to see throughout the term.

πŸ€— We are so proud of all our pupils and everything they have achieved this term. Keep up the fantastic work everyone!

πŸ˜€ We were delighted to welcome back past pupil Dara from St. Patrick’s College. Dara and his friends recently entered the ABP Angus Youth Challenge and are now one of just four finalist groups in the entire competition - an outstanding achievement. P6/7 thoroughly enjoyed hearing about their journey and were inspired by their presentation, dedication, and success.

πŸ₯˜ P6/7 also took part in a fantastic cookery demonstration, where they learned about healthy eating and the journey from farm to fork. Meanwhile, our P5/6 pupils enjoyed an informative visit from the Dairy Council, helping them learn more about nutrition and the importance of a balanced diet.

πŸ€— This week, we were also delighted to welcome our new P1 children for their Induction Morning. It was lovely to see them exploring their new surroundings, meeting staff and classmates, and having lots of fun as they prepare to begin their school journey with us.

🍦Despite the wet weather earlier today, there was plenty to smile about when the ice cream van paid us a special visit. It certainly brightened everyone's day and was a lovely treat for all the children.

πŸ‘ Congratulations to all of this week's Learning Leaves winners. We are so proud of your hard work, positive attitudes, and achievements. Keep up the fantastic work!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
