When you allow children uninterrupted time and space to have unhurried play experiences they might just surprise you❤️ Today the children made their own ‘paint’ from some charred sticks they found on the beach and drew with sticks and feathers on a washed up tree trunk.
This is an example of children choosing their own activity, working out a way to facilitate it themselves and carry out their own tasks independently without adult involvement, ideas or interference. Giving children autonomy of their learning, building their confidence and respecting their choices and capabilities.

First we had the caterpillars, then the chrysalis and then the butterflies… the children have loved looking after them, learning all about their life cycles and then over the last week or so letting them all go free🦋
Did you know that inside the chrysalis the caterpillar turns into liquid and then evolve into a brand new butterfly 😮
