💙 A very special cheque presentation 💙

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of handing over our giant cheque to Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, following our Summer Fete earlier this month. 🥰

We are incredibly proud to have raised £2,731 for such a wonderful charity, which holds a very special place in the hearts of our Building Blocks family.

Our fundraising was inspired by one of our little ones, who was diagnosed with cancer two years ago and received care and support through the children’s hospital. 💛

Thankfully, we are absolutely delighted to say that she is now in recovery and doing so well. Seeing her and her family join us yesterday to hand over the cheque made the moment even more special. 🥹💕

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Summer Fete, donated prizes, bought raffle tickets, made purchases, joined in the fun or simply helped spread the word. Every single contribution helped us reach this amazing total.

And of course, a very special thank you to the wonderful team Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity for everything they do for children and families when they need it most. 💙

🚔👮‍♀️ People Who Help Us – A Special Visit from the Police! 👮‍♂️🚔

As part of our recent learning about People Who Help Us, we were delighted to welcome some very special visitors from Police Scotland today! 🌟
The children had a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the important role the police play within our community and how they help to keep us safe. They were particularly excited to explore the police car, sit inside and even have a go at turning on the sirens! 🚨
The fun continued as the children tried on police hats and used the walkie-talkies, encouraging communication, imaginative play and confidence.
Experiences like this provide our children with meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities, helping them to develop their understanding of safety, the wider community and the important people who help us every day.
A huge thank you to our wonderful visitors from the Community Policing Team for making the experience so engaging and memorable! 🚔

🍉 All About Me – Watermelon Faces! 🍉

As part of our ‘All About Me’ topic, the children got creative at snack time and made their very own watermelon faces!

This fun activity gave the children lots of opportunities to learn through play — developing their creativity and self-awareness as they designed their different facial features, while also building fine motor skills as they decorated their creations.

There was lots of language development as the children talked about what they had made, and even a little maths as they counted their facial features! 👀👃👄

And of course… it made snack time extra fun! 🍉😋

We think their watermelon faces are absolutely fantastic!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along to our Summer Fete on Saturday and helped make it such a fantastic day! 🥰

We are absolutely delighted to have raised an incredible £2,701 for Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity💙👏

A special thank you to Maz for all her hard work collecting our amazing raffle prizes, and to all our parents for their generous donations to our raffle and tombola. Your support means so much! 💕

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to all the parents, local businesses and companies who generously donated prizes to our raffle. Your kindness and support helped us make our fete such a success and contributed to an amazing amount raised for such a fantastic cause. 💙👏

A massive thank you also to our fantastic Building Blocks staff team for all their hard work in the run-up to the fete and on the day — we couldn’t have done it without you! 👏🥰

And a special shout-out to Mikey from Mohawk Entertainment for keeping everyone entertained and Craig from Candyman Dessert Van for the delicious treats! 🍦🎶
