I never usually post these kinds of videos on this app, but I donā€™t think I could put into words just how special it is to watch my dancers become such incredible supporters of each other, and to see the friendships theyā€™re building along the way.

I wanted to share this because from the outside, the ā€œcomp worldā€ can seem so serious, intense and strict. But I remind my kids every single time, having fun will always be the priority.

Yes, there are pre-stage nervesā€¦ but you can bet thereā€™s a pal beside you telling you itā€™s going to be okay.

Yes, thereā€™s disappointment when you donā€™t make a finalā€¦ but thereā€™s always a pal waiting with a hug (and usually a sweetiešŸ˜‚).

Yes, it takes commitment, hard work and a lot of hoursā€¦ but with that comes friendships that deepen, confidence that grows and a drive within you that I genuinely believe stays with you for life. I know that because competing for most of my own childhood gave me mine.

The medals and trophies are lovely. The results matter to them, of course they do. But watching them become this kind of team will always mean more to me.šŸ–¤

Comp Day for our KS ICONSšŸ’«

My girls have had the BEST day, and we are one extremely proud team of teachers.

Yes, the dancing was probably the best weā€™ve ever seen from them. Yes, we brought home so many trophies and medals. And yes, watching all their hard work pay off was amazing.

But the best part of the whole day?

When we gathered together as a dance school, I asked the girls, ā€œWhatā€™s the most important thing to do today?ā€

And in complete unison they shoutedā€¦

ā€œTO HAVE FUN!!!ā€

And thatā€™s exactly what they did.šŸ„¹

They danced. They laughed. They hyped each other up. They cheered on every single one of their pals and celebrated each other like every win was their own.

And a special shoutout has to go to our wee ā€œLexi Louā€, as we call her, who stayed ALL day! Dancing away in her chair and cheering from the sidelines, just to support her friends in the comp team.šŸ„¹šŸ–¤

Iā€™m proud that theyā€™re mine. Not just because of the trophies, medals or resultsā€¦ but because of the little team theyā€™ve become.

Good dancers, but even better wee humans.

Our Saturdays in the studio just hit different šŸ–¤

A full house from morning to afternoon. After classes it's straight into private lessons. Solos, duos, and acro with all 3 'KS' teachers.

Thereā€™s fruit on the table, Starbucks cups everywhere, dancers coming and going, parents popping in and the girls spending half their Saturday here like itā€™s their second home šŸ„¹

Itā€™s busy, itā€™s loud, itā€™s sometimes a little chaoticā€¦ but itā€™s ours.

More than just somewhere they come to dance. A place they genuinely love spending their Saturdays šŸ–¤āœØ

Safe to say our Tiny & Mini girls were feeling VERY inspired by our KS ICONS yesterday šŸ„¹ā¤ļø

I wanted some of our Comp Team to perform at their show for a reason. Three of those girls were once Tiny Dancers themselves - running around with fairy wands, learning their very first stepsā€¦ and now theyā€™re the ones our youngest dancers are looking up to. Full circle moments like that will never be lost on me.

Today is the first day Iā€™ve properly had a chance to think about what comes next. Weā€™ve been completely consumed by Summer Show madness, and opening everything back up today to see just how many families are currently sitting on our waiting lists is honestly a little overwhelming... in the best possible way.

Every recommendation, every lovely message and every time someone speaks highly of our dance school is helping us grow into something bigger than I ever imagined when I started this.

Our admin team will be working through the waiting lists and will be in touch soon with updates on availability across our classes.

For now, just a huge thank you for keeping us so busy, continuing to believe in what weā€™re building and, most importantly, trusting us to be part of your childā€™s dance journey.

Proud is an understatement today. Kruz took on the challenge of leading her first ever show and she smashed itšŸ–¤

Our Tiny & Mini Dancer show was a little different this year. After splitting it from our older girls' show, Kruz took the reins and was responsible for making today happen.

These are the classes she pours so much into every week, so watching her lead her first show and see all of that hard work come together was very special.

And of course, Kynli was right there helping every step of the way. Watching the two of them flourish in their roles at KS and become more confident in what they do is one of my favourite parts of growing the school.
How lucky am I that the three of us share the same passion and actually get to call this our job? Even better that we get to do it togetheršŸ„¹šŸ«¶šŸ¼

We can't wait to share all our photos from what was such a fantastic afternoon with our littlest KS dancers!

No one prepared me for how emotional it is watching the kids youā€™ve taught since they were Tiny Dancers, learning their very first steps, suddenly come running in to show you their Primary School uniform šŸ„ŗ

I get such a front row seat to so many of these little humans growing up. I watch them find their confidence, make their friends, learn new things and become more and more themselves every yearā€¦ and sometimes a tiny moment like this just catches me completely off guard.

They might come to me for dance classes, but somewhere along the way they become such a huge part of my life too.

What a privilege it is to watch them grow šŸ¤

A very happy birthday to one of the biggest parts of Team KS, our Kruz!šŸ–¤

From teaching so many of our little dancers every week, to being the ultimate hype girl, giving out approximately 738 hugs per shift and bringing plenty of chaos along the wayā€¦ Coached by KS simply wouldnā€™t be the same without her.

The kids absolutely adore you, the team couldnā€™t do without you, and Iā€™m very lucky I get to build all of this with my sis by my side.

Of course, our ICONS had to get involved in the birthday celebrations too... Last nightā€™s job was making Kruz her very own homemade birthday banner ready for her coming into work this morning. Safe to say, it was made with plenty of lovešŸ„¹

We hope you have the best birthday, Kruz. You deserve it šŸ«¶šŸ¼

Thursday nights are for our ICONS, aka our Comp Team šŸ–¤

Tonight was a mix of learning, levelling up and plenty of sass... standard.

We spent time learning more about safe partner stretching, had lots of Flex & Form wins with FOUR girls moving up a level tonight, and kept putting the work into building stronger, more confident dancers.

The work ethic from this little team is always high, but lately the progress is speaking for itself. Week by week, theyā€™re getting stronger, pushing themselves further and cheering each other on while they do it. And that's what makes us so proudšŸ–¤
