Welcome to the Front and Back Gardens of Pitreavie Playgroup

At Pitreavie Playgroup, our outdoor spaces are an extension of the classroom, providing endless opportunities for children to learn, discover, imagine, and grow through play. Our front and back gardens have been carefully designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence while supporting every area of a child's development.

Children can relax in our cosy story corner, where books come alive and imaginations flourish. Sharing stories outdoors helps develop language, listening skills, vocabulary, and a lifelong love of reading. Nearby, the mud kitchen encourages hands-on exploration as children mix, measure, create, and experiment, building early mathematical and scientific thinking while developing social skills through cooperative play.

Our café and painting area offers opportunities for imaginative role play, creativity, communication, and self-expression. Whether serving customers in the café or creating a masterpiece with paint and natural materials, children are constantly learning through meaningful experiences. The staging area allows children to perform, sing, dance, and build confidence as they express themselves in front of their friends.

For active learners, our bikes and climbing frames in both gardens help develop gross motor skills, balance, coordination, strength, and spatial awareness. Children challenge themselves physically while learning resilience and problem-solving skills.

Nature plays a huge part in life at Pitreavie. Children love observing and exploring the wildlife around our pond area, learning about habitats, lifecycles, and caring for the environment. Our exciting dinosaur exploration area sparks curiosity and imaginative adventures as children discover where dinosaurs might have lived and learn their names through play.

The gardens also feature loose parts play, encouraging children to design, build, invent, and think creatively. Our den area provides a special place to hide, explore, and work together, fostering teamwork, communication, and imaginative thinking. Sensory toys and natural resources throughout the gardens support children's sensory development, wellbeing, and emotional regulation.

At Pitreavie Playgroup, every outdoor adventure is a learning opportunity. Through play, children develop confidence, independence, friendships, and a love of exploration. Our gardens are places where imaginations soar, discoveries are made, and happy childhood memories begin. Come and see where learning truly comes to life through play. 🌿✨
