Such a lovely review from a parent this morning ❤️

We can’t thank Kirsten enough for what she has done for our daughter. The progress we have seen has been an amazing to see.
We suspected for some time our daughter may have underlying issues linked to her learning and literacy. Kirsten has supported us with a robust summary to submit to the school to support a Dyslexia assessment.
If anyone is on the fence about investing in a tutor or questioning whether financially it would be beneficial - I can assure you the benefits far out way anything.
Kirsten’s knowledge has been invaluable, my daughter enjoys going every week and is proud of her own progress.

⭐️Freeze Response⭐️

Some children experience a freeze response when they’re suddenly put on the spot in front of their peers.

If they have processing differences or worry about making mistakes, being singled out can feel overwhelming and socially exposing.

Their nervous system reacts automatically:
•They may go silent
•Look down
•Feel unable to move or speak
•Appear suddenly sleepy as the body tries to shut down the overload.

This isn’t avoidance or attitude- it’s a protective reaction to stress.

Teachers can help by avoiding: •Unexpected direct questioning
•Giving predictable cues
•Offering extra thinking time

Also allowing the child to respond in
low‑pressure ways such as:
•Writing
•Signalling
•Sharing privately

Creating a calm, supportive atmosphere reduces the likelihood of a freeze response and helps the child feel safe enough to participate. 💚💜

🌟 Wednesday morning 1–1 Tutoring for Primary aged Children 🌟

I am currently fully booked five afternoons and evenings each week, as well as Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings.

To help meet my growing demand, I’m now opening a limited number of Wednesday morning tutoring sessions.

These sessions are ideal for flexi‑schooled children, or those who can come out of school for the first hour to receive focused help.

I offer phonics, reading, writing, spelling, and maths lessons -all taught 1–1 in my home in Duloch.

Accessing this support is as simple as requesting some authorised morning time off from school once a week.

I understand how important it is to get things right for your child, especially when they have additional needs.

Often schools are doing their best, but many children simply aren’t receiving the level of individual support they need.

My lessons provide the consistent, tailored teaching that helps children continue to move forward with their learning.
