It’s International Dog Day! 🐶

Dogs are not only highly entertaining creatures – they also provide us with support, which can help us both physically and mentally. Dogs can provide us with a companion to talk to without any judgement – but they can also help us get fresh air and exercise by taking them on a walk, or help us establish routine.

To celebrate our furry companions, we asked the team to tell us more about their dogs – and how they help us in our everyday lives. Take a look at some of the four-legged members of the team now and let us know how your dog brings you comfort in the comments below. 👇

Earlier in the year, we revealed that one of our young people was stepping into the spotlight to perform a Charity concert in aid of mental health charity Young Minds.
After a lot of hard work and preparation (along with a lot of talent!), our young person raised an amazing £276 on the day, bringing his total fundraising to a £683 when combined with his JustGiving page. What a fantastic achievement!

The concert itself was brilliant, with our young person performing a mix of original songs inspired by his own experiences, alongside popular covers from their favourite artists. It wasn’t just the music that made the day so memorable, though – there was a real sense of community and a range activities including a bake sale, hot rolls, a raffle, and even selling personalised t-shirts!

Our Talent Acquisition Manager recently travelled to London to attend the Better Hirer Scheme launch, getting fresh insights and ideas to help us continue improving our hiring processes. As a member of the Better Hiring Institute, we are continually trying to improve our processes and create a more inclusive and effective recruitment experience. It was great to meet others from both the care sector and beyond!

We’re proud to introduce our newest episode of Our Pebbles Podcast - a new series sharing the voices, experiences, and expertise that shape who we are.
In this video, we sit down with our National Training Manager, Josh Campbell and our Marketing Manager, Morgan Connelly. Josh shares his experience working in residential care and how it has shaped the way our training is delivered.
He talks us through how the training department is always growing and evolving with the changing times, continually adding new courses to support our homes and the young people in our care. Josh also introduces some exciting additions, including staff support days and Mental Health First Aid training, designed to look after the wellbeing of our teams as much as the young people they support.
