On Friday afternoon we released our pre school butterflies Anna and Elsa from there butterfly hotel.
The children were great at handling them and were really pleased when they both flew off to “find their families”😊
Watching them grow from super tiny caterpillars 🐛into butterflies 🦋has been really lovely and the children have loved watching the process😊

🦋 Pre school butterflies 🦋
Today we arrived at pre school and found that our second cocoon had hatched! 🙌 yesterday during our line up time the children independently choose 6 names for our butterflies. We wrote them down and today we pulled two names out of a hat (cup) 🫢 and we would like to reveal that butterflies names are Elsa and Anna ✨ Elsa and Anna will be with us for the rest of the week then we will release them out in to the big wide world 🌍 ✨

🐛Update on our butterfly metamorphosis 🦋
Kimmy has taken home our caterpillars over half term and has been watching them grow, while at home with me the caterpillars wiggled to the top of the cup and become chrysalides. I then moved the chrysalides into their butterfly habitat and waited patiently. Today a magical moment happened a beautiful butterfly has emerged and is fluttering around the butterfly house. Kimmy will bring them back to pre school tomorrow where we will wait to see more beautiful butterflies emerge ✨🦋🦋✨

✨🪩Dough disco 🪩✨ This week at Dundry pre school we are introducing dough disco at the end of our morning sessions, this is being implemented as it is fantastic at developing the crucial fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and muscle strength that children need for early writing and pencil control. This can be continued learning at home by inputting dough disco via YouTube 😊

✨Our provision this week at Dundry preschool ✨
we have used the children’s current interests to provide stimulating learning activities we have an investigation station to explore and let curiosity lead our play, this also supports our topic of the week ‘technology’ we have the dundry supermarket where all things 1-5 go. We have the holiday centre where we are talking about where we may want to go and how we will get there? Skuttle bugs to naturally master steering and balance without pedals and for fine motor skills and cognitive developing we have the cogs and matching games. We are ready for a fun week at dundry pre school ✨

🧘 🧘‍♂️ Today we had Millie from The wildflower wellbeing company 🧘 🧘‍♂️ She delivered a session of children’s yoga and mindfulness. We learnt several animal themed yoga poses.
