With the 2026 pipe band season well and truly complete. We look forward to the fundraising piping recital with the fantastic Pipe Major Ben Duncan joining us. This will be a great evening of piping, and hopefully some stories too.

Tickets are available on a first come first served basis, so don't miss out on this evening of piping. We will once again be in St Mary's Church in Broughty Ferry as the acoustics were so good for the last recital (Dougie Murray).

Huge congratulations to our band member Lachlan Rennie who blew the competition away and become the under 18 Northern Meeting Overall Champion, winning first place in the Piobaireachd and the MSR.

What an achievement! Doesn’t get bigger than this for juvenile solos! 👏🎶🏆

LEADERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT

After a successful first season back in Grade 2, Allan Low has decided to step down as Pipe Major. Allan stated he felt the time was right for him and that he was delighted at the progress made and how well the band integrated together back into Grade 2.

The band are delighted to announce the appointment of Jamie Falconer as Pipe Major.

Jamie currently resides in Arbroath. He began his piping career in bands at Arbroath before moving to Mackenzie where he received tuition from Anne Spalding and Douglas Murray. Soon moving to Police Scotland Fife in Grade 1 where he spent several seasons before later returning to The Macs where he became Pipe Major of the Grade 2 band.

Jamie was appointed Pipe Sergeant and then Pipe Major of the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band where the band were crowned British Champions, UK Champions aswell as top 4 placings in every other major in 3a, which saw the band upgraded to Grade 2 and immediately into the Top 6 under his stewardship in Grade 2.

Most recently Jamie has been Pipe Sergeant of The Macs in Grade 2 working with Pm Allan Low and Leading Drummer David Richardson.

Jamie added "Firstly, Allan deserves all the credit in the world for getting the band back to where it is now. Allan is a legend of this band and a very close friend and im delighted we will continue to work together as Pipe Major and Pipe Sergeant.

On a personal level, I am extremely honoured and excited to take on the band and work again with this incredibly talented group, and once again alongside another close friend in Leading Drummer David Richardson. I feel the band has improved immensely over the season and look forward to continue building on this progress for this year coming."
