Here’s 2 of our little dudes from our Saturday badminton class rocking their new kit 😍🙌🏻

Leo has chosen the fluorescent yellow with Reuben choosing the navy, both of them looking very cool indeed 😎👌🏻

It’s with great pleasure (that’s a lie, it’s more with great rage and competitiveness 🙄🤣) that I can say that little Andie from our 9.15am toddler class will be receiving a free block of classes when we return in August, since her dad may have beaten my score on the keepie-uppie challenge 👏🏻

Anyone who beats my score of 73 now will purely be for bragging rights as the prize has now been claimed 🤣 and safe to say that the competitive streak has kicked in and I’ll be attempting to beat Andie’s daddy’s score of 75 - now I know how my summer will be spent 🙄🤣

Only two weeks of term left after this past one, and what a week it’s been ☺️🙌🏻

Missing a few photos with being busy on court etc, but will try to get more next week!

Bad news for me coming up about my keepie-up challenge 🫠 but good news for one of our littlest Buddies….more on the way soon….

WORLD CUP COMPETITION ⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

To celebrate Scotland kicking off their World Cup campaign at the weekend, I thought I’d bring this oldie of a video out to do a wee competition….

If you can beat my score of 73 keepie-ups with a tennis ball, you or your wee one can have a free block of classes when we return to action in August for our 2026/27 session 🤗🎾

One condition: There must be evidence - your video has to be sent 😉

I posted this before for the Euros a couple of years ago and there was no winner, but maybe this time with the miracle of Scotland finally qualifying for the first time since 1998, we might also find a miracle for this score to be beaten 😉🤣

(Ps, this was recorded quite a few years ago, and took quite a few attempts, so please don’t ask me to replicate it any time soon 🫠🤣)

Cannae believe I’m even suggesting this - anyone who knows me well knows I like to sleep 😴, but…..

It’s a known fact that many people like to workout first thing, get the endorphins going before even starting the working day and being able to then know you’ve got that under your belt to enjoy your day/night.

Sooooo…..

I’m toying with the idea of an early morning adult badminton session, one weekday 630-730 at the RPC, and I’m looking for feedback to gauge demand. I know that it’d be a great way to set you up for the day with a mix of badminton, banter and a workout, and hopefully this will help people to get involved who are keen but are tied up with kids’ activities etc after school and into the evenings/weekends ☺️

As always, tags/shares are appreciated, so go, go, go 🏸🥰

We’ve been working a LOT on footwork this term, and last week we were doing a shuttle pick up footwork routine with the classes that helps with the patterns in and out of each corner for the wee ones (6 areas for the older ones) and also a bit of court awareness to notice where the space is.

Here’s Freya, Jennifer and Bethany doing so so well with it - yes, there were a couple of teeny mistakes but this is how we learn. The girls noticed themselves if it happened and fixed it without me saying anything - job done 😉👏🏻

The work on movement is really helping when it comes to rallying and games 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Well done girls - learning all the time, having fun with one another, and also a few cartwheels thrown in for good measure 🤸🤣

EDIT: slots now filled and making waiting list, unless the waiting list is filled and will add another class ☺️🙌🏻 Thank you for all the shares 🙏🏻

‼️ Confirmed start date for new Wednesday retirement badminton 🏸

For a few different reasons, we’ve not been able to start our new retirement class this term, BUT we’ll now be starting on WEDNESDAY 26TH AUGUST 🙌🏻🥰

This class will take place at Douglas Sports Centre from 11am-12pm, and we’d love to add more retirees to our classes following the introduction of our Thursday class this term.

These classes aren’t just about badminton - they’re about movement, connection with others, laughs….they’re a feeling, rather than a class, and I’ve absolutely loved what we’ve already created together, and I also love the catching up over coffee which has rather become a habit of late ☕️🤣

If this is something you’d enjoy, ladies and gents, or something you know a friend/relative would love, please help to spread the word or get in touch and I’ll add you to the list for starting in August - I’d love to hear from you 🥰

Please note, any level of ability is welcome, so don’t overthink or worry - get signed up and I promise you’ll not regret it 😉

It’s been another fabulous week with all our classes ☺️🎈🎾🏸, one of those where I feel very privileged to do what I do, and long may that continue to be the case 🥰
