Did you know that our Racquet Buddies T-shirts are available to buy from our website?

Click on the ‘shop’ section and see all the colours there are to choose from 🤗

These pictures show a selection what we have available, with lots more on the website, and just look how smart the kids look in them 😎👌🏻

We used to have our annual memberships that included a wee T-shirt and racquet for the kids, but I took the decision to remove this due to the cost of living and some people bringing more than one wee one to class. I have to say though, seeing the kids in the colour they love is fantastic, but yet still part of the team with our Racquet Buddies logos.

With hoodies and shorts also on our site, and with Christmas coming up, now is a good time to have a look and see what’s available for your wee one ☺️ (If you’re unsure of sizes please give me a shout).

Last week was our penultimate week of term, and it did not disappoint 🙌🏻🏸🎾🎈

So much hard work on show, and we’re looking forward to seeing more of it in action during games this week to finish off what’s been a fantastic term 🥰

I’ll be posting photos of our week tomorrow, BUT, tonight I have to stick these photos on….

Today was a very, very proud moment as both Murray and Fraser played in the semi finals of the boys doubles in the East of Scotland Gold in Edinburgh - the only issue was that they were on at the same time 🥴🫪🤪, but we were grateful they were on the courts next to one another 🤣🙌🏻

It wasn’t to be for Murray and Max today, losing out to the better pair but still lots to be positive about given that this was only their second tournament together ☺️
For Fraser playing with his partner, Kavin, for the first time, they managed to edge out the no.2 seeds in a tight 3-setter before losing out in the final to a strong and experienced pair - to see him find confidence and start to believe in himself is the biggest shift, and it undoubtedly made a difference in him reaching his first final 👏🏻

Sport gives us ups and downs, leaving no choice but to learn as we go, building resilience and digging deep when things get tough, often dealing with disappointment. What matters isn’t the winning - it’s how we win or lose, and knowing that we’ve given it our all and sometimes our opponents deserve credit for the wins we miss out on 🥰

It’s been a fantastic week at Racquet Buddies/HD Coaching, featuring kids age 2 to grown ups over 70, and feeling very, very blessed, which has been a recurring feeling this term 🥹🙏🏻

There’s been a hell if a lot of hard work happening, featuring….

🏸 badminton kids improving all the time on movement to the rear of the court and including the scissor kick hitting overhead,
🎾 tennis kids working so hard on the timing on their split-step and being ready to move to each side,
🏸 Tuesday ladies adding variation from two corners and Sunday ladies attacking from the front,
🏸 Thursday mixed class really improving on technique of nets and kills,
🏸 retirement classes working on variation of shots from the front,
🎈 toddlers absolutely nailing their backhands 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Photos also featuring funny faces from our Wednesday kids, and some of Zoe’s artistic abilities - the wee ones were super impressed 🤣👏🏻

Two more weeks to go before our October break - bring it on 🙌🏻🎈🎾🏸

Apart from Monday tennis being cancelled after being stuck in Paris due to a cancelled flight (definitely worse reasons to call off a class 😉🤣), it’s been a fantastic week at Racquet Buddies/HD Coaching 🎈🏸🎾

Everyone is working so hard, we’re all having fun while doing that, and improvements are being seen in every single class 👏🏻

3 more weeks of term to go - bring it on 🙌🏻🥰

(Missed some class photos - will try to get everyone next week!)

It’s been a fantastic week of classes so far 🙌🏻☺️🏸🎾

The kids classes have been superb and they’re really working hard this term - overhead movement at the rear of the court for our badminton kids, and more forehand ground stroke technique for the tennis Buddies, trying hard to get into the right position first 👏🏻

I forgot to get photos of our ladies/mixed classes (will get on the case next week) but they’ve been bloody brilliant, and both retirement classes were fantastic too 🥰
(Also a photo of Owen and Lois’ dad, David, as he was walking past before we took our selfie, just because it was Lois’ birthday and she insisted I posted 🤣)

Feeling very fortunate that work leaves me buzzing - not many people can say that so am very, very grateful 🙏🏻

Wendy and Kirrin will be covering classes this weekend as I’m off to Paris 🇫🇷 but looking forward to next week ☺️

One of the individual sessions I have the privilege of taking every week is with Ethan, who gives 100% every time he steps on court. At this session, he’d just come straight from football training and was absolutely gubbed, but this kid never gives in 💪🏻

We’ve been working a lot on movement at the back of the court, getting behind the shuttle and really trying to take it early and transfer weight into it for more power and better recovery out of the back corners, and also a more solid split at his base position - what a difference in a short space of time ☺️

Safe to say every session with him is an absolute pleasure, and he also has great chat as well as great play on court 🤣 A complete perfectionist, a great wee player, but an even better little guy 💙

Keep it up wee man 👏🏻🏸

A wee highlight reel of Murray and Max’s final yesterday ☺️👏🏻🏸

Hoping some more of our Buddies might want to go on to compete too if it’s something they’re keen to do 🙏🏻☺️

Some photos of last week - some classes missing photos, but we’re back to a full timetable this week so hopefully manage to get everyone in action 🙏🏻☺️

A special mention to the new P1s who have stepped up to the primary classes - they’ve done so well in a time with so much change for them 👏🏻🏸🎾
