WEEK 5 - SPORT & HEALTH WEEK! 🏃‍♀️⚽️ 🍓🥝

We’ve been keeping active with lots of fun indoor and outdoor activities! We practised our skills with skittles, egg & spoon races, balancing beanbags on our heads, throwing balls into buckets and jumping on numbered markers. We also enjoyed a trip to soft play, where we climbed, crawled, balanced and burned off lots of energy!

Outside, we had great fun moving like different animals using the big cube, playing football and catch, having a go at tennis, chasing bubbles and bouncing on the bouncy castles!

We also talked about healthy choices and enjoyed getting involved in some healthy food preparation. We made delicious fruit smoothies, pitta pizzas, frozen yoghurt bites and banana & blueberry muffins.

It’s been a busy week full of movement, exercise, healthy eating, learning, teamwork and lots of smiles! 😃❤️

WEEK 4 - DINO THEME 🦖 🦕

This week we enjoyed:

🦕 Washing dinosaur trucks with leaves and water
🌿 Making tracks and mark making on the ground
🦴 Being young palaeontologists digging for dinosaur fossils in the sand
🔍 Exploring fossils with magnifying glasses
🌋 Making an erupting volcano
🌲 Going on a dinosaur hunt in the woods
💚 Meeting Mr Dino, sharing a story and having a picnic together
🦖 Dressing up as dinosaurs
👣 Looking for numbered dinosaur footprints
🙈 Playing dinosaur hide and seek

A week full of fun, imagination, outdoor adventures and learning through play! 🦕✨

WEEK 3 – FARMS 🐄🚜🍓

Throughout the week, we explored a variety of local farms, learning about where our food comes from, meeting farm animals, and enjoying lots of outdoor play.

* 🐷 Murton Farm – We met guinea pigs, chickens, pigs and donkeys, listened to the different animal sounds, practised turn-taking in the play area and enjoyed bowling.
* 🍓 Cairnie Fruit Farm – We picked our own strawberries, learnt how to choose ripe fruit, tasted our freshly picked strawberries and had fun on the trampolines, swings and tractor play.
* 🚜 Peter Marshall Farm – We explored the polytunnel play areas, visited the goats, geese and pigs, rode the tractors, bounced on the bouncy castle and climbed the hay bales.
* 🐐 East Scryne Fruit Farm – We bounced on the giant jumping pillow, played in the sandpit and playhouse, took turns feeding the goats and pony, and enjoyed delicious fresh strawberries and ice cream.

⚓️ WEEK 2 – SHIPS & PIRATES! 🏴‍☠️

🚢 We enjoyed an exciting visit to HMS Unicorn, where we explored a real historic ship and learned all about life at sea.

🏴‍☠️ We had a brilliant time at the pirate park, climbing, exploring and letting our imaginations run wild.

🏖️ At the beach, we became treasure hunters, digging in the sand to discover hidden pirate treasure.

🔭 During our walk, we used our telescopes to spot exciting things along the way, just like real pirates searching the horizon.

🪵 We also got creative by making our very own pirate ships using sticks and natural materials.

WEEK 1 - SEALIFE & SEASIDE TOPIC

What did we do?

* 🐠 Visited St Andrews Aquarium
* 🏖️ Explored the local beaches with our sea-life play animals
* 🦭 Helped rescue a baby harbour seal
* 💦 Splashed in the sea
* 🪼 Spotted jellyfish and crabs
* 🐚 Collected beautiful shells
* 🏰 Built lots of sandcastles
* 🍦 Enjoyed tasty ice creams
* 🎨 Got creative with lots of arts and crafts

🐝 Why do bees matter? 🐝

Bees help flowers, fruits, and vegetables grow by carrying pollen from plant to plant. 🌸🍎🥕
They help keep nature healthy and give us many of the foods we eat every day!

We celebrated our bee friends with crafts, stories, songs & fun facts!

We enjoyed reading each story and taking part in fun, engaging activities linked to them. The children had a wonderful week full of learning, imagination, and enjoyment.
